This rural road section faced challenges such as ageing infrastructure, minimal lighting, and reliance on standard retro-reflective road studs. The proposed solution to be fully funded by National Highways involved refreshing road markings and installing SolarLite Active Road Studs, providing: - 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 - 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 Sarah Lewis, Project Manager with National Highways, was the driving force behind the scheme. She remarked, “We’re pleased to have delivered this small but impactful safety scheme in collaboration with our supply chain colleagues, ahead of the A417 Missing Link." The SolarLite road studs reduce the need for additional street lighting infrastructure, minimised light pollution, and underscored a commitment to environmental sustainability by harnessing solar energy.
