This week, #TLevelsWeek has been truly inspiring, reading all about the incredible work happening nationwide by students, teachers, providers, employers and many more organisations. It raises one simple question, Why wouldn’t you get involved with T Levels in any way you can? ⭐️ They are top-quality qualifications offering both depth and breadth in their curriculum. ⭐️ They feature rigorous external assessments to ensure high standards. ⭐️ They equip students with essential employability and life skills. ⭐️ They prepare learners for further academic study and careers. ⭐️ They are different and this difference should be celebrated, they stand out positively from other courses at this level. ⭐️ They are the most advanced technical qualifications this country has ever seen. ⭐️ They are exactly what industry needs and wants. And if that’s not enough, check out my blog to discover the immediate benefits the higher education and research sector has experienced by hosting T Level Industry Placements! Continuing my newest read, Commencement (Kate Colbert Joe Sallustio, EdD, The EdUp Experience) about the role higher education in our future. This post is about an idea discussed about what Peter Cohen(Univ of Phoenix) calls a "career university." Very interesting idea, where universities are not a one 'n done deal, but continue through the career of their graduates, including career shifts, mid-career promotions, etc. We all need different skills at different points in our lives. It is interesting that that has not been of interest by universities before now. Not talking about necessarily going back and getting another 4 year degree, or a 2-3 years masters, but instead what about a shorter term skill-specific focus?

National Higher Education Day on June 6 My college journey was anything but standard, and there may be some people from back in my high school days who’d likely be surprised I ended up with a graduate degree. As a first-generation college student, my experience at Utah State University significantly changed my life in several ways: My experiences provided me with an advanced education, better critical thinking skills, and specialized knowledge that enhanced my career prospects. It fostered personal growth and resilience through diverse experiences and challenges. I had networking opportunities that led to future job opportunities, lifelong relationships, and broader exposure to different cultures and perspectives. I consider it a privilege to work in higher education at UVU. There is a vibe and an energy in the air when students are around… I remember that special vibe that encourages innovation, creativity, and a deeper understanding of the world around us. College and university graduates have better job prospects, higher earning potential, and greater job satisfaction. However, it’s so much more than finances; college better prepared me for life, relationships, perspectives, and greater confidence I needed to contribute meaningfully to my family, my community, and the broader world. Whatever your chosen profession, get the most education you can to help you because it is so worth the time, money, and energy you’ll spend – with exponential returns in several areas of life! #CollegeIsWorthIt, #HigherEdLiftsUtah, #UVUDegreeWorthIt #uvu
