NO QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO PERFORM AN INVASIVE PROCEDURE!!! Yes, like other Healthcare Sectors we are extremely short staffed and under pressure. BUT filling the sector with unskilled workers is NOT the answer!!! Phlebotomists perform a highly skilled technique and without suitable training, every pathology provider are placing their patients in harm's way by not investing in attracting a skilled workforce. To do that, you need to pay them higher than wages comparable to unskilled roles as our skilled workers are leaving the sector to work in safer environments like office admin and being paid more. Pathology is not a place for Workforce Australia to use to move people off jobseeker. It takes a certain person to want to be a healthcare worker and do so ethically. Higher Education is coming because the Australians who rely on skilled phlebotomists to preserve their veins and collect blood samples with the least trauma to the patient. I am absolutely sure if we asked Australian's who they want to take their bloods and the answer will always be a phlebotomists as that is or area of expertise. https://lnkd.in/gHyYuq3z

What are the challenges for hiring healthcare staff in Hospitals? 1. We receive multiple resumes but the post for which advertisement is placed, very few candidate match the employer requirement 2. Current trend of changing jobs frequently is leading to high salaries of employees but skill set is not developing compare to pay. Over period of time this staff is becoming job less as no opportunities are available which will match their skill & pay 3. Resistance of healthcare staff to do night duties, big challenge, who will serve our patients in odd hours is becoming problem day by day 4. There is increased percentage of non compliance by staff towards commitment given 5. Decreased tendency of doctors, nurses & other healthcare staff to do hard work, efficient work, proper medical documentation as compared to previous generation 6. Every passing candidate would like to do something of his own, trend of entrepreneurship is increasing. It is good trend but affecting existing hospitals as commitment & longevity of staff is decreasing #humanresource #hospitals#challenges#integrity#commitment#doctors # nurses #healthcarestaff
