Many operators of passenger public transportation maintain an exclusion or trespass policy that effectively bans violators from using the system for a period of time in conjunction with, or in lieu of, other penalties related to the violation. Exclusion policies vary in scope, qualifiers, purpose, and approach. There is limited information about how these policies are used and their efficacy. TRB will host a webinar on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Eastern that will discuss ways exclusion policies are implemented and used by transit agencies, the major issues and challenges of the policies, measuring effectiveness, and the impact on crime. To register for the webinar click here: https://lnkd.in/gwbfXyeC This webinar is based on TCRP Synthesis 173: Transit Exclusion Policies in Public Transportation Systems

Should you encounter unhygienic and unsatisfactory conditions in the train toilets on your next journey, you must approach the Court against Railways. Yes…... Recently, the Consumer Court found Railways guilty, and the Complainant was given a compensation of 30k. The Court highlighted the clear obligation of the railway authorities to offer fundamental facilities, such as clean toilets. The duties assigned to railway staff, including ticket examiners and conductors, emphasized their responsibility to maintain cleanliness in train coaches. Action Point: Capture a photo or record a video (Evidence-1) and promptly file an online complaint (Evidence-2) through your mobile on the "Rail Madad, Grievance Redressal Mechanism" Portal. Consider approaching a Consumer Forum to address the deficiency in service. #RailwayAccountability #CleanToiletsMatter #ConsumerRights #RailwayJustice #CompensationForComplaints #HygienicJourney #LegalActionOnRailways #CourtVsRailways #DeficientService #RailwayComplaints #ConsumerCourtWin #FundamentalFacilities #RailwayObligations #TravelerAdvocacy #RailwayCleanliness #EvidenceMatters #GrievanceRedressal #PassengerRights #LegalVictory #JagoGraakJago

The decline of roads policing over a number of years is now apparent every single day on our roads. Increasingly overworked and under resourced policing teams across the country are exposed to trauma on a daily basis. Road safety and focusing on reducing deaths on our roads must be a priority. There needs to be a focus on replenishing the roads policing teams, enforcing traffic law and targeting the fatal 5.
Powerful words in this blog from David Ward Towards Zero Foundation: "Ministers at the Department for Transport have preferred to peddle myths about a so-called ‘war on motorists’ rather than reduce carnage on our roads. The Government has failed to deliver a promised road safety strategy, life-saving vehicle safety technology has been blocked, road policing has been cut, and no action taken to reduce road danger to young drivers. "The next government should act immediately to implement the four policy recommendations included in the 2024 Road Safety Manifesto prepared by PACTS. The Towards Zero Foundation is pleased to join with all the UK’s leading road safety organisations in supporting this urgent call to action. There is no reason to delay any of the recommendations which are ready to be adopted within the first 100 days of a new Government taking office. Over the last decade Ministers have lost the ambition to improve UK road safety and given up on any pretence to meet the United Nation target to halve road deaths by 2030. It is unforgivable to normalise nearly 30,000 annual UK deaths and serious injuries in road crashes. That is why it is time for change and new leadership to make our roads safe." https://lnkd.in/g5yqs-_M

Will this "Closing the Gaps and Loopholes" also close the ability for the NHVR to also be charge for negligence as in the Cootes Transport disaster? https://lnkd.in/efM7d-rz. They should also be accountable for their systems failures which drivers and organisations rely on.
How has the transport industry reacted to the closing loopholes bill? - Fully Loaded
