Many operators of passenger public transportation maintain an exclusion or trespass policy that effectively bans violators from using the system for a period of time in conjunction with, or in lieu of, other penalties related to the violation. Exclusion policies vary in scope, qualifiers, purpose, and approach. There is limited information about how these policies are used and their efficacy. The decline of roads policing over a number of years is now apparent every single day on our roads. Increasingly overworked and under resourced policing teams across the country are exposed to trauma on a daily basis. Road safety and focusing on reducing deaths on our roads must be a priority. There needs to be a focus on replenishing the roads policing teams, enforcing traffic law and targeting the fatal 5.

"The next government should act immediately to implement the four policy recommendations included in the 2024 Road Safety Manifesto prepared by PACTS. The Towards Zero Foundation is pleased to join with all the UK’s leading road safety organisations in supporting this urgent call to action. There is no reason to delay any of the recommendations which are ready to be adopted within the first 100 days of a new Government taking office.
