We are excited to attend and be a sponsor of the XIII Simposi de Neurobiologia #NeuroSCB2024 #SimposiNeurobiologia2024 #NeurobiologySymposium2024 The Neurobiology Symposium is a biennial scientific event organized by the Neurobiology section of the Societat Catalana de Biologia (SCB), an institution funded in 1912 with the main objective of disseminating biological science in Catalunya. The main objective of the Symposium is to present recent scientific advances in the field of Neurosciences of the research groups of the Catalan community in order to be a scientific forum for participation of local, national and international researchers.

Our very own Jim Heys, Assistant Professor of Neurobiology, is our next speaker in our School of Biological Sciences Speaker Series. Please join us Thursday September 12th at 4pm in ASB 210 to hear Dr. Heys discuss his lab's recent discovery of "time cells," which fire in a regular sequence similar to that of a clock, and their role in helping animals understand the timing and location of their adaptive behaviors. The National Science Foundation, in connection with the Kavli Foundation's Neurobiology and Changing Ecosystems Initiative, encourages submission of research proposals for its Neurobiology in Changing Ecosystems (NiCE) that advance the field of neurobiology in changing ecosystems. Proposals should emphasize interdisciplinary collaborations and integrate diverse methodologies, including environmental monitoring techniques, behavioral and physiological experiments, ecological and evolutionary modeling, combined with traditional approaches in neuroscience investigation. https://ow.ly/C1aP50Qr66a?

Excellent science, made in Europe: This year’s winner of the Körber European Science Prize, Erin Schuman, shares exciting insights on proteins, nerve cells, and the human brain. 🧠 ▶️Watch the video now! https://lnkd.in/d6za_cqc Erin Schuman is a pioneer in neurobiology. She discovered that and how proteins, as critical building blocks of the cells, are locally produced at the interfaces between neurons. Schuman’s newly discovered mechanism has revolutionised our understanding of the brain and opened up new avenues of research into serious brain disorders. “It truly is an awesome feat that individual brain cell can process a thousand or more different streams of information independently,” says Schuman, who is Director of the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Frankfurt, Germany. She will receive the Körber European Science Prize in Hamburg on 20 September. 🎥Want to learn more about the brain and its synapses? Condensates.com is pleased to welcome Dragomir Milovanovic, Principal Investigator - Molecular Neuroscience, German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, as an invited speaker in the Kitchen Table Talk series. Dr Milovanovic published seminal work that helps us understand the molecular mechanisms that control local organization of biomolecules at the synapse and how this organization regulates neurotransmission. I’ve always had a stark interest in neuroscience and understanding the working of the human brain. Along with studying the course of clinical and molecular neurobiology this semester, I also completed my 5 week internship at Dr. Sibylle Jablonka's Lab. In this duration, I witnessed a lot of new things like dissection of mouse embryos , its spinal cord and motor neurons, culturing of neurons and HEK cells , genotyping of nmd mouse lines and also performed techniques like immunostaining. Really looking forward to explore the realms of this field in depth and learn new techniques on the way! 🧠 #neuroscience #humanbrain #spinalmuscularatrophy

Check out our latest neuroscience app note which shows that using the Singulator Platform for your single-cell ‘omics applications is a “NO-🧠-ER”!!! (pun intended 🤭) #neuroscience #scrnaseq #singlecell #genomics #freedomfromtedium S2 Genomics
Neuroscience research demands high-quality, reproducible, isolations of single nuclei to facilitate the investigation of rare cell types when using genomic applications such as snRNA-seq, epigenomic or multiomic studies. This new application note demonstrates consistent nuclei yield and high-quality sequencing metrics across biological replicates, using the Singulator Platform making it a reliable tool for neuroscience research. https://hubs.la/Q02JQLYZ0 #neuroscience #freedomfromtedium #scRNA-seq
