An excellent interview where unlocking #innovation, #derisking, enhancing #capability, and quickly identifying gaps in either process or needs ensures optimal readiness. My take away is to know that an organization, in this case Royal Canadian Navy | Marine royale canadienne, can do a quick evaluation of the future requirements & have the ability to ensure the personnel are ready to get there! Strong similarities in the private sector to achieve success. https://lnkd.in/gpkjE_Bn Angus Topshee, Joetey Attariwala, MD, Canadian Defence Review

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between Astute, Vanguard and Dreadnought submarines? At 154 metres long, the Dreadnought Class we're building for the Royal Navy will be bigger than Astute. They're also larger than the Vanguard Class, which they'll replace from the early 2030s. Refer to this handy guide and find out more facts about Dreadnought with the link in the comments 👇 #submarines #engineering #design #technology

Experienced Leader in Project & Operations Management | Talent Development | Expertise in Strategic Planning & Risk Management | Transitioning Service Member | Active TS/SCI
David is absolutely correct. Don't go through your military transition alone. Everyone's adventure looks a little different, but it's up to the individual to take ownership of their transition. 2 pieces of advice for transitioning service members, I feel confident to share at this point in my journey are: 1) Start early. Small steps early pave the way for big things later. 2) Ask for help early and often from veterans or one of the many organizations out there dedicated to help veterans find meaningful post military employment. Much like Bilbo learned later in his adventure, having a group to help increases your chances for success. #transitionthursdays
Networking with transitioning Navy professionals in Jax is what #transitionthursdays are all about! Thank you Ryan T. and Ryan Devlin for sharing your wisdom with us today! We’re getting the impression that transition is going to be a long game. Don’t be like Bilbo, do not go on this adventure alone, ask us about Transition Thursdays!

Dhingra tells the Financial Times: “I’m not fully convinced there’s some kind of really sharp excess demand in the economy coming from the consumption side. I’m more concerned that we might be underplaying the downside risks.” The Royal Navy has: - No active Astute Class Submarines, as they await a dry dock to be built. - No active Fleet Replenishment Ship for any possible carrier strike group. - A shortage of both F35Bs and personnel. - No active Landing Docks for amphibious assault. - Both Vanguard Class Submarines and Duke Class Frigates are running long over expected serviceable life. - Vanguard Class Submarines appear to be operating at minimum redundancy. Do you think a need to maintain the Royal Navy so that current assets are operational could be the root cause of the shared demands you aren't aware of? Or, maybe we live in Utopia after all? Military expenditure is inherently inflationary.

Celebrating Over 60 Years of Excellence in Submarine Manufacturing: Our Ongoing Legacy of Innovation and Quality 🎉🛠️ 🚀 Join us as LBBC Beechwood marks a significant milestone with the Upholder Class submarines, known for their precision and enduring quality in maritime engineering. These submarines stand as a testament to our dedication to perfecting submarine design and functionality. 🌊🚢 Did you know that the Upholder Class submarines, despite being designed primarily for anti-submarine warfare, also possess a unique capability to operate in extremely shallow waters? This capability allows them to perform covert surveillance and intelligence-gathering missions close to shore, a task that larger submarines typically cannot manage due to their size and draft. This versatility makes the Upholder Class exceptionally valuable for a range of naval operations beyond their primary combat roles. 🤔🧑✈️ Originally commissioned by the British Royal Navy, the Upholder Class also seamlessly transitioned to service with the Canadian Royal Navy in 1998. This transition highlighted their versatility and consistent performance. 🇬🇧🤝🇨🇦 With only four units produced, the Upholder Class submarines may be few, but their impact is significant. Still active with the Canadian Royal Navy, they continue to play a crucial role in national defence and maritime security. ⚓ We invite you to celebrate the Upholder Class submarines with us—durable guardians of the seas that embody the spirit of LBBC Beechwood. Looking forward, we honour these vessels as icons of ingenuity, teamwork, and maritime excellence. 🌟🚀 #EngineeringExcellence #SubmarineManufacturing #Innovation #FamilyBusiness #Legacy #Quality #EngineeringInnovation #NavalHistory #LBBCQuicklock #MaritimeEngineering #LBBCBEECHWOOD #LBBCTECHNOLOGIES #LBBCGROUP #LBBCBASKERVILLE #RESOMATION

Recently, the Australian Defence Strategic Review (DSR) revealed a groundbreaking proposal aimed at augmenting the Hunter class frigates under construction for the Royal Australian Navy. This innovative plan involves integrating additional VLS cells, a move that promises manifold advantages. Despite the ongoing analysis of numerous options, the forthcoming upgrade is set to significantly bolster the frigates' striking capability, enabling them to deliver more powerful and sustained firepower. Initially geared towards bolstering Anti-Air Warfare (AAW) capabilities, this enhancement holds the potential to extend its impact to the surface domain. The prospect of augmenting firepower brings a crucial element of adaptability, recognizing the imperative need to confront evolving threats. Considering the expected service life of 30 to 40 years for this class of ships, the foresight in enhancing their capability becomes paramount. The ever-evolving nature of threats underscores the necessity for readiness, and this upgrade aims to future-proof the frigates against the challenges that lie ahead. #navy #ships #type26 #hunterclass #asia-pacific Royal Australian Navy BAE Systems BAE Systems, Inc.
