Our international teams are currently en route to Ukraine to embark on one of our most challenging operations yet. The situation remains dire, with intensified hostilities impacting civilians and restricting humanitarian access. GCS is spearheading a complex reach and rescue mission, providing life-saving food supplies, medicine, and evacuation services in some of the hardest-hit regions. Despite the risks, we are also delivering what no amount of war can destroy—the hope of the Gospel. As we distribute thousands of Bibles and evangelistic literature, we continue to stand alongside the vulnerable, offering spiritual and physical relief to those in desperate need. In recent months, strikes have decimated civilian infrastructure, left entire towns in ruins, and caused unprecedented levels of displacement. Sumy region needs help. In the past months, local villages and towns in the northeastern part of Ukraine have been subject to massive attacks from Russian territory and some places do not look inhabitable anymore. Starenki has supported lonely older people in the Sumy region for more than a year and now we deliver emergency aid there because our recipients were evacuated from their homes with little bags of the most necessary things and documents to neighboring safer settlements. According to the UN, almost 600 humanitarian organizations work in Ukraine now. However, even with this tremendous number of help, some people in need don’t happen to receive aid. Among them are older people. Two years ago we wouldn’t believe that a charitable organization like us could provide humanitarian relief to hundreds of people. But time and circumstances request our full attention and resources. Most importantly, we are capable of helping. Owing to our local partners, donors, team, and well-built internal processes of prompt response to crisis. Tigray: From Famine to Action ✊ Heartbreaking - the people of Tigray are facing a devastating famine, not just from drought, but from deliberate starvation. Children are wasting away, families are shattered, and hope seems scarce 💔 This is a man-made catastrophe, fueled by injustice. We can't just stand by. In the same way that support and warm and fuzzy feelings for charitable organizations is a complete misunderstanding that charities are proof of a broken system, so too the notion that "humanitarian aid" is somehow a solution to world problems is also DELUSIONAL. The solution to world problems is STOP WARS. Israel is using bombs to kill people, using bulldozers and explosives to destroy infrastructure, and their strangle-hold on so-called humanitarian aid to starve ALL of the PALESTINIANS. Israel is intent on destroying UNRWA for the same reason. Do not accept stories of "humanitarian aid" as the solution that requires attention. Stopping a genocide cannot be done via "humanitarian aid." Stopping this genocide could begin with Joe Biden stopping all arms shipments to Israel NOW.

Recently, I engaged in discussions with Australians and friends from various parts of the world about the declining coverage of Ukraine in the media. While there are numerous factors to consider for a comprehensive answer, what truly matters is our personal commitment to standing on the right side of history and supporting Ukraine. For the past two years, the world has witnessed Ukraine and its people battling against authoritarianism, terror, and genocide. During this time, over 125,000 war crimes by Russians have been registered, over 3,800 educational facilities and over 1,500 medical facilities have been damaged or destroyed. Shockingly, over 19,546 Ukrainian children have been abducted and forcibly taken to Russia. Ukraine urgently needs our help and this is What You Can Do

Tomorrow it will be 2 years since millions of children’s lives were changed forever in #Ukraine. Since then, children’s lives have been torn apart: 💔Children have seen their homes, playgrounds and schools bombed. 👭They’ve lost loved ones to violence or been separated from family. 🏫They’ve been cut off from healthcare and school. For the past 2 years, our teams, together with our partners, have been providing humanitarian aid and essential services to children and their families within Ukraine and in neighbouring countries. Together we've helped over 2.6 million people, including over 1.1 million children ❤️ However, 2.9 million children in Ukraine are still in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.
