🌷Happy Women's Day! Although:  - since 1960, only 77 women have held the most powerful positions of executive power in their 59 countries - and at the beginning of 2023, there were 15 countries led by women, with Italy and Honduras electing their first female presidents in 2022 - only 10,4% of companies in Fortune 500 are managed by women according to Fortune > https://lnkd.in/diaTE5BU there are also some positive results according to Statista here: https://lnkd.in/d_uBK458: - in 2022, women made up between 12 and 36.7 percent of all employees working in leadership and/or managerial roles at these large technology companies.  - Facebook had the highest rate of women in leadership roles, with 36.7 percent, followed by Apple, with 32.3 percent of their leadership positions being held by women. Why do we need to see more women in leadership positions in companies? Some research articles point out that: "companies with more women in senior positions are more profitable, more socially responsible, and provide safer, higher-quality customer experiences — among many other benefits" via this article in Harvard Business Review> https://lnkd.in/drz7pfMi citing these scientific articles: > Women on Boards and Firm Financial Performance: A Meta-Analysis > in The Academy Management Journal > https://lnkd.in/dFNsvy8s > Women on Boards and Firm Financial Performance: A Meta-Analysis, The Academy Management Journal > https://lnkd.in/dFNsvy8s > Women on Boards of Directors and Corporate Social Performance: A Meta-Analysis in journal Corporate Governance https://lnkd.in/d9yBtY38 The authors of this article conclude: "including more women in executive decision-making may lead firms to consider a wider variety of value creation strategies." #IWD24 #thestorybehindthenumbers #numbers #business #strategy #businesstrategy #valuecreation #management #leadership #financialperformance #profit #learning #learninganddevelopment
