State IT leaders are experiencing mixed reactions to recent advances in AI, according to a recent report from the National Association of State Technology Directors, a CSG affiliate. Despite concerns about AI not meeting expectations, many officials remain optimistic about its ability to enhance productivity and support understaffed offices. Key findings from the report include: - 95% of states have their chief information officers leading AI governance efforts, with 36% involving their legislatures and 29% including chief information security officers. - Challenges: Major issues include perceived risks, skill shortages and budget constraints. - 40% of states partner with external agencies for AI development, with 33% working with higher education institutions and others collaborating with other states, counties and cities. https://lnkd.in/gawVqHMH

The CSG West Housing Forum, held on August 12, 2024, brought together state and local leaders to discuss strategies for increasing affordable housing, tackling homelessness, and improving housing policy. Focused on addressing housing challenges in the western United States, the forum featured key stakeholders from Zillow, Ivory Innovations, Welcoming Neighbors Network (WNN) and more. For over five decades, Sen. Lou D'Allesandro’s name has been synonymous with public service in New Hampshire. Last night, CSG Executive Director/CEO David Adkins joined former CSG East Director Wendell Hannaford and Rep. Kevin Ryan, the CSG National Chair, for Lou's retirement party in Manchester, New Hampshire. D'Allesandro's legacy extends beyond the Granite State. At both the regional and national levels, he served CSG and its members in multiple leadership positions, including as the 2019 CSG National Chair and the 2022 CSG East Co-chair. CSG celebrates the notable career of Sen. Lou D'Allesandro and his undeniable impact on the state of New Hampshire and beyond. https://lnkd.in/eJTTxhHC
