I’m going to be completely honest about something I’ve realized lately: if people don’t have a class or event to attend, they often don’t carve out time for themselves. We frequently hear people say they don’t have enough time to give themselves, what they need or support themselves in a way that allows them to check in with their bodies, minds, and emotions. However, when we pay to attend an event, class, or retreat, we commit ourselves. As long as we can make the date and time, it becomes a genuine way to carve out time for ourselves. **** I believe this is a beautiful thing, and there’s nothing wrong with using community spaces as support to actually do our practices !!!!! **** Many times, when I’ve discussed this in the community, people say, “I don’t want any crutches; I want to do it all on my own.” While I understand the desire to be self-sufficient, we are social beings. It’s wonderful that we have the opportunity to check in with ourselves while being with others who are doing the same. I understand not everyone can afford one-on-one sessions with me or retreats with us. However, Dylan hosts a very low-cost community gathering on Zoom every month, which has no prerequisites. If you have done psychedelics and need a place to discuss those experiences, you’re welcome. Additionally, this month and next month, I am offering one-off classes. In the past, I used to teach multiple classes a month, sometimes even multiple classes a week. Although I wish I had the time and space for that, my current life doesn’t allow it. Instead, I am focusing on being intentional with upcoming events, such as the inner child breathwork class for the summer solstice and a Cacao ceremony in July to celebrate the feast of Mary Magdalene for all womb keepers. I invite you to join our community if you need to carve out more time for yourself. All three gatherings I mentioned are on Zoom, so no matter where you are in the world, you can join us without needing to leave your cozy little home. #Clarity is kindness! ✨ This has been a theme for us over the last few weeks. In particular, the clarity on the intention and spirit of our Walk & Talk community here in #Singapore One of our favorite books by Priya Parker 'The Art of Gathering' emphasizes the importance of having a clear purpose when gathering a group of people. She says that understanding why you are gathering and what you hope to achieve ensures that the event is meaningful and impactful for everyone involved. She advocates for specificity and intentionality to create a truly memorable and effective gathering. 🙌 So, we reflected on this a lot and came up with these 3 key principles that guide our Walk & Talk sessions: 1️⃣ Connect, not transact: This community is about reconnecting with the outdoors and forming genuine connections with those you walk with. This is a space for deep connection rather than transactions, pitching or hard selling of products and services. 2️⃣ Come as you are: The Walk & Talk experience strives to create an environment where everyone can show up as their genuine selves. We are not in formal office attire but dressed casually and appropriately to be outside with the natural elements. We are not here with job titles but as we are in our everyday lives. This way of connecting avoids the confining and stiff nature of more structured and traditional events or meetups. 3️⃣ Respect and Explore: Enjoy and respect the natural setting that fosters calmness, encourages easier conversation, and leads to deeper connections with others. Let your #Curiosity guide you as you notice the sights, sounds, and smells of nature. Be mindful of the wildlife around you and treat the natural landscape with respect. How easily you would have lost weight if you were surrounded by people having healthy fitness habits? Every Saturday we have a weekly meeting between the core members of our Organisation. This time the main agenda was Raw Summer Carnival! It had been a while since our people had gotten together to celebrate something and also no there’s no festival around the corner so we decided to come up our own event, The Raw Summer Carnival! An event packed with fun games, stalls and healthy food. The main idea behind such events we host comes from this quote, ‘You become exactly like the 5 people you spend your most time with’. Our lives would have been so much more fit if only everyone else had not made unhealthy lifestyle the new norm. How many times has it happened that you are on a diet and rather than appreciating it, people rather discard all your efforts and offer you with junk food. This is the exact reason why we as an organisation want to build a community for our fitvestors to be around like minded people! Cheers to becoming happier and fitter together!
