What's next before the Act gets signed? ▶ Tuesday 13 Feb - EU Parliament – Votes by Committees on Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committees; and Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committees to take place. ▶ March / April – EU Parliamentary Vote (depending on your reading material but certainly one we're monitoring). ▶ Enters the Official journal and will be applicable 2 years on. Exceptions: 1, prohibited uses of AI which will be applicable from 6 months; and 2, general purpose AI, applicable from 12 months. And the text? With thanks to those who have disclosed the text and consolidated text on this platform, there are also a couple of additional options to consider. The American College of Physicians (ACP) is encouraged by the White House’s focus on the need to protect Americans’ privacy in the use of artificial intelligence (AI), including the privacy of health care data. ACP repeats that safeguards need to be in place to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
