Propaganda is an important fuel for fascism. This creates confusion and fear by clashing reality and imagination.
We can identify the perpetrators and victims when propaganda projects are implemented: those who benefit most vs those who suffer most.
The minority community is the group that is most easily victimized and functions as an intermediary towards the main goal.
One of the strategies is as stated by Huxley 👇

Do you remember the 80s and 90s?
I remember the fear of the National Front.
- they came to Drummond Street every weekend,
- throwing things through our letterboxes,
- injuring those who dared to confront & fight back.
I'd forgotten about growing up in Camden, where mobs made an appearance every weekend to rid my community of 'Pakis'.
Drummond Street then had a large Bangladeshi, not Pakistani community.
Those who hate can't tell the difference.
Recent events have brought flashbacks from the past...
- shops & restaurants on Drummond Street closed,
- Bengali families prisoners within their homes,
- men and teenage boys defending our community.
Link to a short film from 1997 in comments.
Our Bengali community started to fight back, but we had such little support from our wider community.
We didn't feel protected by police in those days, sometimes they called us Pakis too.
Racists were defeated then too, but we lost so much in the process,
and are still triggered because of it.
🎯 My post today attempts to raise awareness with employers and senior leaders.
🛑 have you any idea what your staff are really going through?
🛑 you can ask them, but they might prefer to block out their past and not tell you anything.
🛑 don't assume people will come to you for help,
🛑 most people will feel you won't get it, because you simply can't relate,
🎯 Please don't try to do a job that your racially diverse colleagues can do better, just to prove that you understand.
🎯 You cannot understand lived experience, you can only 'feel' it.

March 15 marks the International Day to Combat Islamophobia. Declared as an international observance in 2021, the United Nations defines Islamophobia as “a fear, prejudice and hatred of Muslims that leads to provocation, hostility and intolerance by means of threatening, harassment, abuse, incitement and intimidation of Muslims and non-Muslims, both in the online and offline world.”
#Islamophobia is a concrete and daily reality for Muslim communities everywhere. We all have a role to play to make sure York Region remains a welcoming and safe place for everyone.

In this remarkable era of history, we witness the profound collapse of long-established systems ingrained with the teachings of hypocrisy. The emerging generation, nurtured on the ideals of universal human rights, now ardently battles for these rights, awakening to the stark reality that such principles were reserved solely for a privileged few, rather than being universal truths. They confront the unsettling truth that certain communities are exploited as mere pawns to satiate the insatiable desires of a select elite who wield control over our world, perpetuating a narrative that shields their crimes. This narrative is disseminated through the vast machinery of media, cinema, compliant politicians, and international bodies designed to safeguard these structures of global avarice.
The veil has been lifted, particularly in the wake of the tragic events in Gaza, exposing the machinations at play. It is a pivotal moment that demands the attention of political scholars, for we are undeniably amidst a transformative phase in global history. As colossal systems crumble, the dawn of a more authentic and equitable world beckons on the horizon.
