It's powered by multiple AI large language models in-house and third-party such as Google’s Gemini, Mistra 7BI, Anthropic’s Claude 2.1 OpenAI’s GPT-4. The choice of models to use is available to users who subscribe to the company’s Pro plan at $20 per month, which provides availability to Perplexity Copilot, which unlocks many features including personal preferences, file uploads and image generation. But this is your best feature 😉 Copilot tailors search queries with custom follow-up questions, introducing the concept of generative user interfaces that removes the burden of prompt engineering and does not require users to ask perfectly phrased questions to get the answers they seek. This enables users to gain more relevant and comprehensive answers than other AI chatbots, traditional search engines, or research tools. RocketBoots confirms that it has received firm commitments to raise ~$832,000 via a placement to new and existing shareholders. Funds will be used for expansion activities, advancing trials and progressing contract negotiations with several customers. Commenting on the raise, Chief Executive, Joel Rappolt, said: “This capital raise, when combined with our SPP funds and forecast cash inflows in the new financial year, should provide RocketBoots with the opportunity to complete its current eight (8) international trials. Successful conversion of any of these trials to a scaled site, multi-year contract has the potential to make a significant impact on our business fundamentals. The capital will also enable RocketBoots to install a second wave of trials, due in mid-2024 & continue converting its growing pipeline to new trials. Sequoia Capital’s ARC Accelerator team put together this framework for early stage founders that outlines 3 ways to reach PMF: Hair on Fire → You’re solving an obvious but important problem in, likely, a crowded market and do it better than anyone else (example: Zoom , during the pandemic). Hard Fact → You challenge a conventionally accepted fact, and demonstrate an alternative (example: Superhuman). Future Vision → You skate to where the puck is going. My three big takeaways 👇🏼 1️⃣ Anyone can be an Angel investor. Cheque size and value are not linked, so never discount a highly relevant individual because of their cheque size. 2️⃣ Prepare, prepare, and prepare. Start your conversations with angels and have your materials ready long before you need capital. 3️⃣ Fundraising can be all-consuming, but if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Another successful Upfront Summit in the books. @Rob Mazzoni from Wellington's Late-Stage Growth team and @Van Jones from Wellington Access Ventures enjoyed the content, as well as the opportunity to catch up with friends in the venture capital and limited partner communities. It was clear from these conversations that LPs have renewed excitement to back new and existing managers that show clear differentiation. For VCs, the returning momentum of underlying software customer buying behavior is providing confidence that 2024 could be an improved deal environment across sectors, with AI as the clearest driver.

I chatted with Thanasis "Thani" Delistathis, co-founder and managing partner of PROOF and I have to say, I love their fund model. They are every early-stage fund’s best ally in capturing more upside. We talked about how early-stage firms often miss out on maintaining their pro-rata rights due to their limited fund size. They've accumulated $350 million in investments in their portfolio companies using a unique investment strategy I haven’t seen before. Thanasis laid it out for me, diving into the gritty details of creating investment opportunities for LPs getting access to the best companies later stage round through the pro-rata of early stage funds. We laughed about the tough parts of being early-stage VCs. Things like handling co-investment setups, not having enough people or resources, big funds pushing out the little guys, needing solid relationships, and dealing with unstable markets and high prices. What resonated with me was Thanasis's focus on building strong relationships early-stage VC forms and offering to split carry with them and take their pro-rata, giving them additional exposure to their top-performing companies. This concept creates a win-win situation.
