Similarly, the African American community has a rich history of overcoming adversity, from the fight against slavery and segregation to the ongoing struggle for civil rights and equality. These shared experiences highlight the importance of solidarity and mutual support among all marginalized communities. By understanding and honoring our intertwined histories, we can build a stronger, more inclusive future for everyone. In May, we celebrate Asian Pacific Heritage Month, a time to honor and recognize the rich cultural heritage and significant contributions of Asian and Pacific Islander communities worldwide. At Bridging Legacies Across Campuses (BLAC), we understand the importance of highlighting these beacons of success and pride from diverse backgrounds, ranging from renowned musicians like Yo-Yo Ma to pioneering scientists like Marie Curie. Each story represents a triumph over adversity and a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of BIPOC individuals. As we amplify #ourfacesourvoices, we not only celebrate the achievements of the past but also uplift the voices of today's leaders, ensuring that their legacies inspire generations to come. Throughout history, Asian and Pacific Islander communities have faced challenges and discrimination, yet their resilience and perseverance have led to remarkable achievements in various fields. By shining a spotlight on their accomplishments, we not only honor their contributions but also pave the way for greater representation and inclusion. This day is of serious importance as three-quarters of the world’s major conflicts have a cultural dimension. That is a really big slice of the pie being culture-related.
