“In order for consumers to finally fall in love and commit to buying meat alternatives, we need to deliver the missing ingredient: real fat. Real fat packs flavour, taste, juiciness, and that perfect mouthfeel. It's what creates emotional attachments to the foods we love and brings us back to the foods we grew up with. This is why we make cultivated fat which is real animal fat but without the animal. It is the ingredient that will finally unlock hybrid meat alternatives that consumers will love.” Hear more from Josh Hatfield and Hoxton Farms about the applications of cultivated fat at Course Europe on 6-7 March in Wageningen, The Netherlands! You’ve tried plant-based meat, but here come meat-based plants A team of South Korean researchers at Yonsei University have developed a hybrid rice variant that’s quite literally filled with beef. Don't want to eat bugs in the future? There's a kind of beef that produces 78% less greenhouse gas and uses space 2000% more efficiently than ordinary beef while consuming 80% less water. Meat without the bacteria, animal suffering, or environmental degradation. It can even be grown in low fat varieties that makes red meat healthier for your heart! Better for you and better for the planet. It's common for ordinary meat to become infected by fecal bacteria released in the slaughtering process, but cultured meat comes from shiny metal drums that make sure your dinner is safe and healthy. Because of the absence of harmful bacteria it even lasts longer on the shelf without preservatives, which helps reduce food waste! In the long term this process has the potential to be substantially cheaper than ordinary meat production, which will improve the finances and diets of low income people around the world. https://lnkd.in/ebMBTWij #food #science #environment #health #planet #foodscience #foodwaste #future #tech #protein #hygiene

In a world where plant-based meats are gaining popularity, let's talk facts. While these alternatives are often marketed as healthier and more sustainable, the reality isn't so black and white. Many plant-based options are heavily processed and packed with artificial ingredients. What about all of the insects and animal life that are doused with chemicals to prevent them from getting to the plants? We believe in the power of natural, minimally processed foods. Our Wagyu beef is raised with care, ensuring you get the most natural and nutritious product. The only time we are putting something into the animals is if they are severely sick because we truly care about our animals well being. We're here to start a conversation: Is the shift to plant-based meats really about health, or is it just another trend? #plantbased #wagyubeef #carnivorediet
