We are delighted to publish our 2023 Annual Report and Outcomes Report. Our Annual Report shows steady demand for remote access to mental healthcare and treatment. 📑 In 2023: 📌 20% of our service users accessed comprehensive, multidisciplinary care through online channels 📌 Inpatient care was delivered to 2,341 service users 📌 15,466 outpatient appointments were delivered in our Dean Clinics 📌 There were 18,769 attendances at day programmes 📌 Over 2,500 service users registered to use Your Portal, our service user online portal. “While inpatient services remain at the heart of St Patrick’s Mental Health Services’ operations, remote care has the potential to become a cornerstone of our human rights-based ethos by providing choice and empowerment and removing barriers to mental healthcare”, explains Paul Gilligan, our Chief Executive Officer. Seclusion and restraint are used when there are no other options to protect the safety of service users and staff in inpatient care settings. However, the use of these practices can potentially have harmful emotional and physical impacts on the people involved in these events, both directly and indirectly. Seclusion and restraint have a negative impact on a person’s recovery during their inpatient stay and can infringe on human rights.
