In the 19th century, the Portuguese Navy used this special lock to secure a ship’s bridge with a passcode known only to the captain and his deputy. This lock is part of an exhibition by the Israel National Cyber Directorate - מערך הסייבר הלאומי, and we're extremely proud to be one of the 25 elite companies selected to present the Israeli cybersecurity industry in this interesting exhibition which debuted this week at #CyberWeekTLV2024. The exhibition connects the innovations of select Israeli cybersecurity companies with ancient locks that symbolize each company's distinct strengths. For Cydome, it's an honor to be represented by a lock that signifies our unwavering commitment to maritime security. As a side note, we must comment that such "password sharing" is no longer a good practice, so please don't share your keys and credentials! :) Although the means of security might be different nowadays, this legacy of security and trust inspires Cydome's mission to protect today's maritime operations. https://lnkd.in/dMU_ctV3 Gaby Portnoy Orit Bracha Noam Katz Fraind #MaritimeCybersecurity #CyberWeek #CyberWeekTLV #CyberWeekTLV2024

In a world where our battles are fought in the digital domain, the importance of unity and shared knowledge cannot be overstated. That is why continuous defense against advanced cyber threats requires cooperation. Each of cyber commanders, stands at the forefront of the ever-evolving landscape, safeguarding digital frontiers. I am grateful for dialogues like today's during the Baltic Cyber Commanders Forum, which strengthen the partnership of Baltic countries. Enabling defense through information exchange with partners is crucial for success in strategic competition.

Tomorrow, I was scheduled to present a talk at DeepSec Vienna with Ofri Ouzan about the evolution of binary exploitation techniques. Regrettably, due to the horrific terror attack on October 7th, reality has dictated that I’m currently on active military reserve duty and hence cannot attend. Knowing Ofri and the content of the talk I’m sure she’ll do a great job delivering the talk on her own (probably even better than with me!) She has dedicated significant time to thoroughly researching the subject, and her talk will offer an extensive analysis of the ongoing battle between exploitation techniques and defensive/hardening mechanisms. If you’re attending DeepSec, I highly recommend attending her talk at 11:50 Vienna time (5:50 AM EST). 💡If you can’t attend the talk, you can learn more about the topic by following Ofri and the series of articles she is currently releasing called “The Evolution of Exploiting Memory Vulnerabilities in Linux”: https://lnkd.in/esEcwRRE #CyberSecurity #BinaryExploitation #DeepSec #SecurityResearch

One week has passed since the conclusion of the exercise, and I am sure the team is still reeling from the impact of this tremendous tour de force. I felt compelled to share this post to celebrate and acknowledge the incredible efforts of all participants. A hearty congratulations to the CrowdStrike team for their outstanding participation in #NATO Locked Shields 2024, the world's largest live-fire cyber defense exercise, hosted by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence (CCDCOE)! The mission of CCDCOE is to provide our member nations and NATO with unparalleled interdisciplinary expertise in cyber defense research, training, and exercises. This encompasses technology, strategy, operations, and legal frameworks. During the exercise, #Romania 🇷🇴 was proudly represented in Blue Team 05 (BT05) by top-tier specialists from both public and private sectors, including military experts from the Republic of #Moldova 🇲🇩 and #Bulgaria 🇧🇬. CrowdStrike played a key role, contributing not just with our flagship #Falcon platform, but also with the invaluable expertise of our team members, who were involved in pre-exercise training for the team. Locked Shields is a critical exercise where Red Teams and Blue Teams go head-to-head. It's designed to sharpen cybersecurity experts' skills in defending national IT systems and critical infrastructure against real-time attacks. The scenarios are crafted to be as realistic as possible, incorporating cutting-edge technologies and simulating the full complexity of a massive cyber incident. This includes strategic decision-making, legal challenges, and communication hurdles, as described by the CCDCOE. We urgently need more exercises like this, where public and private sectors, vendors, and systems integrators can collaborate effectively. Let’s celebrate these initiatives and stay open to more opportunities to strengthen our defenses together! #CrowdStrike #LockedShields2024 #CyberDefense #NATO #CCDCOE #CyberSecurity #PublicPrivatePartnership #Teamwork #CyberExercise #FalconPlatform

At this year's Eurosatory exhibition in Paris, Clavister, a leader in European cybersecurity for mission-critical applications, signed a long-term strategic agreement with Thales and Blackthorn AB, building upon a business relationship within cybersecurity and defence. Under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the companies will work together to develop areas of cooperation within the global cybersecurity- and defence domains with the ultimate goal to benefit both companies’ customers. The purpose of this MoU is to support the companies’ joint effort in addressing Swedish customers’ needs, governmental and private, relating to platform cybersecurity in connection with enhanced networking, routing, computing and Cloud Infrastructure. “I think joining forces with Thales is a good example of how we as a Swedish cybersecurity expert company can add value and further enhance a mature Thales solution like SOTAS. All parts of a military platform need to be protected and the SOTAS solution is a critical communication network within the Swedish military vehicles,” said John Vestberg, CEO of Clavister. Locked Shields 2024, the world’s largest live-fire cyber defence exercise, starts this week, highlighting the global community’s commitment to combating cyber threats. Organized by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE), this annual exercise goes beyond traditional cyber exercises by incorporating experts from different disciplines to address the multifaceted nature of cyber threats. This year, about 4000 experts from more than 40 nations will join forces in a simulated environment during Locked Shields to protect the infrastructure of a fictional nation. The participants will confront a series of challenges that replicate the complexity of real-world cyber defence, including critical thinking, strategic decision-making, legal considerations, crisis communication, and strategic planning, all aimed at strengthening their cyber defence capabilities. Here pictured with my eminent colleague and Swedish representative, Mr. Christoffer Flygare at the battleground. #LockedShields2024 Cyberforsvaret

Diving Deep into Cyber-Warfare at the ANU Yesterday, in our course "Cybercrime: an introduction," hosted by the ANU Centre for Social Research and Methods and supported by the ANU Cybercrime Observatory. We had the distinct honor of being joined by MJ Lasse Kronborg, Deputy Head at the Royal Danish Defense College, Institute for Military Technology. As a subject matter expert in Cyber Warfare and Cyberspace Operations, Lasse enriched our understanding with his in-depth knowledge on: [1️] How nation-states continually update their cyberspace capabilities. [2️] The evolving role of cyber-espionage in global conflict. [3️] Doctrines like MAD in traditional military strategies and their potential cyber counterparts. [4️] Psychological and behavioral facets of cyberwarfare. [5️] The intricate relationship between state-sponsored cyber activities and cybercrime. [6️] The potential role of entities like the United Nations in addressing cyber-conflicts. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lasse and the Danish Defence for delivering this enlightening lecture on this intricate subject. The chance to interact with global specialists undoubtedly enriches the educational experience of our students. #guestlecture #cyberwarfare #militarytraining #cyberspace #RoyalDanishDefenceCollege #DanishDefence #cybersecurity #TheAustralianNationalUniversity #ANUCSRM #ANUCybercrimeObservatory
