Sir Isaac Newton's words, "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants," truly echo my thoughts at the end of day one of the #FutureTalentSummit2024 in Stockholm. I feel enriched and fortunate to have engaged with some of the brightest minds and leading thinkers on some of the most pressing human and skill-based challenges of our era. We delved into possible solutions and logical approaches, difficulties and strategies for managing change – all with a focus on keeping humans at the heart of a human-led, data-driven, tech-powered value chain. "Can collective intelligence save the planet? It's the only hope we have" said Patrick Joseph McGovern. I am pleased to be contributing to this group effort aimed at paving the way to a better future where human skills are augmented by data and technology. Today, I had the profound honour of joining a remarkable assembly of minds on the Omniverse main stage, delving into the heart of Artificial Intelligence alongside the best, brightest, and truly inspiring leaders in the field. Sharing this platform with Chiziterem Uwaga, Malik Afegbua, Samuel Salako, Nnenna Onyewuchi and Victor Mark-Onyegbu was not just an honour; it was a moment of profound insight and collective wisdom. Our panel discussion, '𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮'𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻,' was a vibrant exploration into the realms of possibility, challenge, and change. It was enlightening to contribute and equally enriching to hear from my esteemed fellow panelists. A poignant realization from our dialogue was the enduring issue of representation—a narrative that's far from new yet urgently relevant. We discussed how, in seemingly simple tasks like prompting AI platforms for images of African boys, the outputs often reflect deep-seated stereotypes, presenting images of malnourishment and poverty. This starkly highlights the gaps in AI representation and the narratives being woven about our continent. Initiatives like Omniverse are indispensable. They illuminate crucial conversations and unite diverse disciplines, charging us with the collective responsibility to forge part of the solution. The call for change is loud, clear, and now. It beckons to each of us, urging us to weave new narratives, challenge the status quo, and ensure that the digital future is inclusive, representative, and just. Change starts now, and it starts with us. Together, let's embrace this charge, for in unity, there is strength, and in action, the promise of a brighter, more inclusive future. #AI #Inclusion #Change #Omniverse #UnityInAction #Omniverse #GrowthLab #AltitudeAiConsulting

Last week Trellis Data was excited to be a part of the Smart Cities Council - ANZ event in Adelaide, Australia. During the event, our CEO Michael G. delivered an insightful presentation on the future of AI in urban environments. His key message: Cities must harness the power of AI, prioritising secure, trusted, and impactful implementations to truly unlock its potential. "A smart city is only a successful city when it's working to improve the lives of its citizens. When it comes to AI one size doesn't fit all. We need to ensure that we develop solutions that enhance the distinctive characteristics that define our cities. Part of that means adopting AI designed specifically to reflect and preserves a city's culture and uniqueness." Michael said. As we move forward in this AI-driven era, let's ensure that our innovations contribute to vibrant, distinctive cities that serve and empower their people.
