Thanks for your kind words Dawn Robertson MBA. I'm so proud of our industry and people. 25 years into my own energy journey and I've never felt more positive about the opportunities that exist!

Superb article Kirstie Langan. So much work to be done, particularly in terms of wide communication of the opportunities, age group and skills inclusion / development and the need for inspirational leadership (of course!) across the board. I have my own views regarding speed of transition, and believe we should've started thirty years ago, but we didn't, and for upcoming young talent with a negative view of O&G, IMHO, I'd say the message is that you have to be in it to change it. We need your skills, fresh perspectives and future involvement in the energy sector to help drive a just transition as you will be the leaders of the future energy solutions. Look at the young voices rising up in Shell just now. They are being heard and have influence, and I'm optimistic that this groundswell will lead to a ramping up of great job opportunities across the sector in terms of (a) keeping the lights on now, (b) reducing emissions and (c) speeding up transition to clean energy technologies.

I was just away to log off and head to bed when I saw this! I'll be reading it first thing in the morning when I'm a bit more awake. Great subject! 😊

VG Kirstie, an interesting read with some great points to get the brain thinking. It's too easy to let unwitting prejudice creep into our views on this subject and takes conscious effort to challenge ourselves. Well done, D
