Earlier this year, actress Lily James visited our Gahcho Kué mine in the remote Northwest Territories of Canada as part of a trip in her role as Global Ambassador for the Natural Diamond Council. Watch the video below to hear Lily reflect on her visit, meet some of the incredible people working in the diamond industry in the Northwest Territories and what natural diamonds mean to them and their communities.
Inspired by her trip to Botswana in 2022, NDC Global Ambassador Lily James wanted to explore more about the world of natural diamonds and the positive impact that they have on the communities that depend upon them. In February of this year, Lily traveled to experience the harsh conditions of the frozen subarctic, in the Northwest Territories of Canada, meeting with local communities and seeing firsthand how the incredible initiatives set in place, protect the environment in this natural wilderness. In the Discovery video, Lily talks about her unique experience in her own words. We would like to thank the Government of Northwest Territories, Debeers Canada Group, Rio Tinto, Benjamin King, and the entire team at Diamonds De Canada for making this adventure possible. #onlynaturaldiamonds #realrareresponsible To take a closer look at Lily James’ discovery trip in Canada visit: NaturalDiamonds.com. https://lnkd.in/eQPKfZf6
