A special morning at the DECJUBA HO! Today Uncle Colin Hunter Jnr, a Wurundjeri Elder and friend of DECJUBA Foundation partner, MITS, joined us at our new DECJUBA HO for a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony. Thank you, Uncle Colin, for sharing such a special and meaningful ceremony with us. The DREAM TEAM is officially all settled in and we’re ready to kick off an amazing new year! DECJUBA respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work and gather. We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation where our head office is based, and the traditional owners of the lands across this nation where our DECJUBA stores are located. We pay our respects to Elders, both past and present.

Haco Industries Kenya Limited together with Impact Team (I-Team) had a privilege to mentor and inspire 2000 students at Olkejuodo High School in Kajiado County. This was the conversation - When we talk about success and achieving our goals, we often get caught up in our beginnings. It’s easy to feel limited by our circumstances, whether it’s the place we come from, the resources we have, or the challenges we face. However, what truly matters is not where we start, but how we perceive ourselves and the aspirations we hold for the future. How you see yourself can shape your actions, decisions, and ultimately, your destiny. If you believe you are capable, talented, and deserving of success, you are more likely to take bold steps towards your goals. It’s essential to cultivate a positive and empowering self-image. Believe in your potential and embrace your unique strengths. Haco Industries Kenya Limited addressing the gaps of motivation and self-esteem, making a meaningful contribution to students’ daily lives and academic journey.
Last Saturday was a tremendous success! 🎉 Heartfelt thanks to our dedicated team who sacrificed their time and resources to make a difference in Kajiado County (Olkejuado High School). 🙏 Special appreciation goes out to our partners at Haco Industries Kenya Limited . The smiles on the students' faces were priceless. 😊✨

Leading Te Whangai Trust, a socio-environmental trust brokering generation change through kaupapa Māori te whare tapa whā.
As we celebrate Waitangi Day and our birth as a nation, we reflect on the pains of that birth and the joys, sorrows, successes, and failures, egos, and activists. Reflecting on how the journey has been interrupted by the human frailties of greed surpassing need, misinterpretations and fear. The journey transcending financial metrics, bridging cultural divides and fostering national resilience. We now operate at the intersection of Māori and European values, striving for an inclusive model through Treaty principles. The umbilical cord has been severed replaced by an invisible thread woven between us through relationships, coexistence, love, life, loss and the need to rebuild for the future of all. Let today be an awakening of what might have been lost and forge the pathway for all the peoples of Aotearoa.

The test of competence is validity. However we claim, brand ourselves and package it, the real test will come when consumers of our products and services finally call for it. They will be greeted with three surprises: 1. The claimed products, the noise about it, the packaging and branding about it, on social media, print media, the road show, etc surpasses the price, the bargaining value. Then, they want more and more. It will earn us more recommendations, accelerated and repeated patronages. 2. It optimally meets its claims and expectations. They will still want more. Patronage will still occur. 3. It falls below the expectations, below the advert, below the packaging, below the noise, below the claims. Oh, what a lie, faking, exaggeration, empty barrel. They will be greeted with regrets. That ends the patronage. Whatever we market: we brag about, we idolise, we promote, we sell or service, produce or deliver, let it earn the credibility and the value of the recipients. Value is much more perceived by the receiver than the giver. Would our services, products earn repeated patronage or it's done forever? We can only fool recipients of our services and products once, not twice. Maybe we need to sit down and ask: Why don't I earn repeated patronage? Where are my old customers? Why did they severe repeated and continued services and procurement of our services? Am I giving something special, new, uncommon or am I offering the same old value, old services? Am I really competitive? Do i actually worth what I claim, portray and display? It does lnt matter if we are a professional service provider, an employee, employer, an institution, etc, we have the opportunity to reengineer our services, ourselves for optimal value. Thank you sir for earning the credible patronage. We are learning here.
It was 2019 when my performance at Deeper Life High School Valedictory Service and Prize Giving Day went viral. I got a phone call to attend a program at Aso Rock but someone along the line blocked the move. I took heart knowing that when it is God's time, no man would be able to block it. A few months ago (five years later) the video went viral again as it does annually and the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission saw it and chatted with me. She was delighted with my performance. I was invited to anchor Day 1 only of "Diaspora Day 2024" It went very well so I was asked to join two top notch MCs for day 2. All in Aso Rock Villa! I became a small celebrity for two days 😃 What will be will be. In the waiting period, sharpen your skills because delay is not denial. Happy new week. #consistency #dedication #passion

International Indigenous Relations Consultant. Experienced Leader & Freelancer committed to leaving a legacy of a brighter future for the next generations.
Let’s talk ceremony! There are many types of cultural practices that occur as part of ceremony, yet the key element of Ceremony is to shift attention and focus so that intentions can come to fruition and are prioritised. Traditionally, we had Welcome ceremonies for example that set the tone for visits coming onto Ngurra (Country). These are still practiced and operate in different ways depending on Nation. We, as a family engage in Ceremony when our daughter competes for track and field. Our way of continuing to honour our ancestors. This week, she did the same. This is not something that Indigenous peoples just do during special events. This is practiced often in many different ways. Although we don’t paint up with our earth-gifted ochre, our intentions are the same. It’s about focus, intentions and walking with good spirit: yanma budyari gumada. On a side note, this little warrior did extremely well, winning the 100m, Long Jump and setting a new district record in the process. #dharug #blakloudproud #culturalpractices #Indigenouseducation #goodintentions
