⚡️🇺🇸 The US Navy has chosen BAE Systems, Inc. to develop the Dual Band Decoy, a radio frequency jammer based on the combat-proven AN/ALE-55 Fiber-Optic Towed Decoy to be used by fighter jets to counter enemy attacks. The decoy will consist of a towed unit connected to electronic warfare equipment onboard the US Navy’s Super Hornets by fiber-optic cables. It will utilize its jamming capabilities to disrupt enemy radars and lure missiles away from the aircraft. “With Dual Band Decoy, we are building on the ALE-55’s years of mission success as a high-powered jamming system,” BAE Systems Advanced Compact Electronic Warfare Solutions Director Don Davidson said. #military #army #defensetech #defencetech #militarytech #technology #innovation #defense #defence #defenseindustry #defenceindustry #baesystems #electronicwarfare #aviation #militaryaviation #aerospace #usnavy

Northrop Grumman's B-21 Raider is the first strategic bomber in more than three decades. The United States Air Force (USAF) officially unveiled its new strategic bomber in December 2022. It made its first flight on November 10, 2023. According to US Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin, the B-21 Raider is not just another airplane or acquisition—it's the embodiment of America's determination to defend the republic. The B-21 will replace USAF's B-1 Lancer and B-2 Spirit bombers. Some leaders in the Air Force and United States Department of Defense consider its flexible mission capabilities and updated stealth features necessary for integrated deterrence. The OH-58D Kiowa Warrior’s continuous presence in Taiwanese military operations warrants an examination on its usefulness, considering that the forward scout chopper was retired by the U.S. Army because of its obsolescence in the modern contested battlespace. The service, in fact, assessed it to be vulnerable to newer Russian and Chinese medium, short-range, point defense and man-portable shoulder-fired AD (Air Defense) systems. https://lnkd.in/dJ2-uHBV
