In recent years, the #TRATONGROUP’s Scania Group, MAN Truck & Bus SE, Navistar Inc and Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus brands have all launched products to support the advance of electrification in the #transportation industry. For the latest in our #TRATONGROUPHighlights series, we’re heading back to October, when MAN Truck & Bus introduced the widely anticipated #BatteryElectric MAN eTruck. 🚛 The MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS, developed at the company’s cutting-edge #eMobility Center in Munich, promise daily ranges of up to 800 kilometers. These #eTrucks also offer high charging power with MCS (750 kW) and CCS (375 kW) standards. In combination with the variable positioning of the CCS charging port, these vehicles are engineered for efficiency and convenience. 💥 The first 200 eTruck units are set to hit the road by 2024, paving the way for larger-scale production starting in 2025. Medium- and heavy-duty trucks need special charging stations, way more power, and a lot of planning to make the switch. We’re talking about needing almost 700,000 chargers by 2030. Daimler Truck NA, Navistar, and Volvo Group NA sell around 70% of the big trucks in the US, and they’re serious about accelerating their sector’s switch to electric. According to the news released by the Bavarian manufacturer, 700 orders and order requests have already been received for the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS, with the “Limited Edition” of the 2024 model year almost sold out already. Indeed, the majority of the above mentioned orders are for large-scale production, which will start at the MAN plant in Munich in 2025. The new MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS are characterized by a high degree of variability in battery configuration with a choice of three to six battery packs. This means that the optimum vehicle configuration in terms of range, payload and charging time can be selected for every application characteristic. Moreover, with six battery packs, two of which are installed under the cab and up to four more on the side of the vehicle frame, the eTGX and eTGS offer up to 480 kWh of usable battery capacity for daily ranges of up to 800 km. In addition to the CCS standard with up to 375 kW, MAN has been offering the even more powerful megawatt charging standard (MCS) for fast intermediate charging during breaks from driving. ..."

In the U.S. alone, the number of these vehicles on the road increased by 35%, showing a clear industry shift towards greener alternatives.
