A huge shoutout to our friends @CAVA for partnering with The Door again for Community Day. Guests received a free lunch or dinner at their new restaurant location and accepted donations to The Door in lieu of their free meal. We are so grateful for their multipronged partnership as a sponsor, community partner, and employer partner for The Cut, our onsite culinary workforce training program. Early intervention can save a young person's life.
This Christmas Season please think, there are children experiencing their first Christmas alone. Keep us mentoring by supporting our 'Winter Warmer Campaign.' 1 less drink this season, 1 less bottle of wine, 1 less box of chocolates, could see you donating to help support vulnerable young people through their darkest days. https://lnkd.in/eHFRxMFc

1 in 8 households in the United States are food insecure, while 40% of our food supply continues to goes to waste. Food Forward rescues surplus produce and distributes it to over 260 hunger relief partners in communities experiencing food insecurity. This year alone we have distributed more than 200 million servings of fresh fruits and vegetables that would have otherwise gone to waste. Make a donation of $35, or become a $5 monthly donor, by August 9 and receive a Food Forward t-shirt specially designed by animation artist, Lorraine Grate, whose work has been featured on Disney, Nickelodeon, Amazon, and Scholastic! In 2023, 8.8 million Californians experienced food insecurity. This means that nearly 1 in every 4 individuals are unsure where their next meal will come from. Every year, lawyers across the state come together to try to provide critical funds to local food banks. So please join us in donating to your local food bank. If you don't have one, please consider donating to our firm's local food bank. Contra Costa County often receives far less resources than San Francisco and Alameda. But Contra Costa County has areas of significant need, including Richmond, Concord, and Pittsburg. https://lnkd.in/gYviBwzJ

Surprisingly for a company whose main products are Christmas-based December is actually quite a quiet month for us work-wise…all this year's orders are delivered, the 2024 range is finished and ready to launch and all our clients are busy making sure their customers have a very merry Christmas...so what do we do with ourselves? We enjoy the festive season of course...but we also like to spare a thought for those not so fortunate. Here are some of the things we have been up to over the past week or so. We have been supplying crackers to local charities and events to help support them with their fundraising efforts, including donating; - a huge collection of provisions for Poole Foodbank - 40 trays of crackers for family hampers to BCP Social Care - 160 sparkly silver crackers to the Forest Holme Hospice for their Christmas party - Christmas crackers for Ringwood Food bank's hampers and goodie bags - Christmas crackers for gift bags for the Macmillan Ball - A box of crackers for Coombe House School Raffle - Christmas crackers for Prama Life, Dorset Children's Foundation, Julia's House, Ringwood Veteran's Breakfast Club and the Royal Marine's Charity... Plus last, but certainly not least we had a Christmas Jumper day in aid of Save the Children. #launch #foxy #rebranding #thornbackandpeel #crackers #celebrationcrackers #christmascrackers #retail #retailcrackers #christmas #sustainable #kraft #craft #sustainablecrackers #sustainablechristmas #ecocrackers #ecochristmas #lauraashley #charity #supportinglocal #eleanorbowmer #bigpotatogames #familychristmas #christmas2024 #cateringcrackers #catering #christmasparties

🌟 Join Us for a Special Event This Friday! 🌟 Today, we’re excited to share a heartwarming story from one of our supporters and invite you to a special event hosted by Fortune Creek to support Kelowna's Gospel Mission. 🎉 Event Details: 📅 Date: Friday, June 28th 🕓 Time: 4-8 PM 📍 Location: 231 Bernard Ave Enjoy special performances by Dawson Gray + Guests, delicious treats like Famous Butter Tarts, fresh fruit milkshakes, pies, sausage, and more! ✨ Call to Action: Please bring food donations or cash. All contributions will support Kelowna's Gospel Mission. Here’s a story that highlights why we are the charity of choice for Fortune Creek: "I heard a story once that described the difference between Heaven and Hell: In Hell there was a huge table, on it was every food imaginable, and you were allowed to eat whatever you wanted, they only rule was you could not eat with your hands. People around Hells table were sad and hungry because the utensils they were forced to use we so large they could not hold it in their hands and feed themselves. So they starved. In Heaven they had the same huge table, with the same food, and the same large utensils. Similarly, you were allowed to eat whatever you wanted, provided you did not eat with your hands. But unlike Hell, they were laughing and smiling with full bellies of amazing food. How? Because rather than feed themselves, they fed each other. That’s why the utensils were so large to begin with and because they took care of each other’s needs, they flourished. The reason why we chose KGM is we believe community challenges require community solutions. The KGM is one the best initiatives to help support our growing and changing community’s needs. " Bring your family and friends for a wonderful time! We look forward to seeing you there! #SupportLocal #Kelownas #FortuneCreek #SpecialEvent #FamilyFriendly #CommunitySupport #LocalSupportGospelMission #CommunityEvent #GiveBack

National Director of Development, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, Strategic storyteller, TED Speaker and Ambassador
Did you know that 1 in 8 Americans experience food insecurity while more than $200 billion is spent on food that will never be eaten? That’s billions of pounds of food wasted instead of going to those who need it. Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) aims to redistribute excess food to people experiencing food insecurity. RLC makes it easy for businesses to donate their excess food to their community and provides a reliable, professional food rescue service for our partners at an efficient cost. Join us at the Rescuing Leftover Cuisine Gala 2024 as we unite to end food insecurity. If you cannot attend, please donate to support the cause.
