Dr.Salvador Guerrero’s Post

National Hispanic Heritage Month is almost here and I am thrilled to invite all Donation and Transplant professionals to join us on September 19th at 2:00pm EST, for this amazing and very informative webinar we have put together as part of the Organ Donation & Transplantation Alliance (The Alliance) Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Conversation series: “Advancing Equity to save more lives in the Latino Community: Case Studies”. REGISTER TODAY AT https://lnkd.in/gRHCfRbs In the United States, the Latino community, especially those who are undocumented, face significant barriers accessing healthcare. In this conversation, we will establish a foundational understanding of the Hispanic culture, values, and beliefs in relation to donation and transplantation. Our specialized panel of Latino leaders/Family Services experts in the field will review relevant donor case studies, from different OPO regions, in order to identify common barriers and challenges when approaching Hispanic families for donation in a hospital setting. Utilizing a culturally sensitive approach, our panelists will share best practices, tools and resources to overcome these barriers, in order to increase authorization for donation in the Latino community, serving them more equitably and saving more lives. (Find more info in the flyer attached)* Los esperamos!!! 🙌🏼💙💚 #donevidanewengland #thealliance #neds #organdonation #transplantation #diversityequityinclusionandbelonging #DEI #deib #hispanicheritagemonth #latinoleaders #savinglives image0.jpeg
