Reading this article carefully the only thing that can be thought is, either incompetence but I can't believe it, or a deliberate strategy of not investing in a sales network that can really support the sales of Maserati cars which cannot be the same of the ordinary ones. E.g., In that segment, almost all are placed with long term rental contracts full service included. Reminding that on this offering the Germans AUDI AG, BMW Group, Mercedes-Benz AG, Porsche AG, are unbeatable. Otherwise the sale volumes to support profits and investments cannot be reached. Even, it is the same problem for the Alfa Romeo cars today. Hence the hypothesis of returning under the control of Ferrari, sure in this case a different portfolio of vehicles and lower sales volumes. The contribution to the Ferrari business would be visible on condition of investing, focusing & developing the new portfolio of models but with the unknown of who between Stellantis and Ferrari will be responsible for managing everything that has been sold so far. Because if for Stellantis this would be ultimately manageable and perhaps without impacts, for Ferrari it would create some issues. And also doubts in current and future customers. Furthermore, no longer having a kind of "single container as the Fiat Group once was", even, does not help. Stellantis and Ferrari are now divided and totally independent, as well listed on the stock exchange with a different underlying of shareholders. And reputation.
