What do jet engines and cultured meat have in common? It's the last day of voting to (maybe) hear Felipe Gaitan tell the punchline at SXSW '25! First things first, help us get there? Voting Vow for SXSW Austin only takes 29s and a couple clicks. How can I vote? 1) Create an account with SXSW [https://lnkd.in/gsBSE2k] 2) Vote for Vow's PanelPicker, 'How SpaceX lessons can ignite the cultured meat movement' [https://lnkd.in/gqDjKP4R] 3) Feel the immaculate vibes, well wishes and appreciation from all Vowsers wash over you.

Rocket City, Huntsville, is no stranger to space exploration. Still, this month, BLUE ORIGIN turned up the volume with a series of loud tests on its new rocket engines. The historic test stand, modified and renovated under Blue Origin's collaboration with NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration , stands as a testament to the region's rich space exploration heritage. What makes this location uniquely suited for such ear-splitting tests? The bottomless water supply from the nearby Tennessee River offers a safe and swift way to flood the test area if necessary. Blue Origin's presence in Huntsville extends beyond the test stands. The company manufactures rocket engines in Cummings Research Park and collaborates with United Launch Alliance (ULA) , a commercial rocket builder just a few miles away on the Tennessee River. Recent reports suggest that Blue Origin might further entrench itself in North Alabama by expressing interest in acquiring ULA. https://lnkd.in/e4hW7AET #huntsvilleinternationalairport #portofhuntsville #spaceflight #rockets #rocketcity #aerospacemanufacturing #NASA #northalabama

While none of our products have been on Mars (yet), they have actually been in space! 💡 In 1983, a Comet X-ray tube was on board the space shuttle mission STS-7 to conduct metallurgical experiments. 🔬 What do you think, (when) will Comet products go to Mars? 🌕 Maybe you have a thought for Loris De Monte's curious queston. For 75 years, Comet has been following its #curiosity. Curiosity fosters innovation, increases collaboration and personal growth. It is a state of mind that makes all things possible. We asked our employees what sparks their curiosity, what questions they have on their mind – and they delivered! Be curious. Your curiosity will help you and us to grow. This past weekend, I dedicated my time to fine-tuning a YOLOv9 model on a custom dataset. I chose the Rocket Detect dataset from Roboflow, which categorizes images into three classes: engine flames, rocket body, and space (a tiny speck in the sky). Now, I would like to share with you the initial results from running inference tests with the fine-tuned model on footage from SpaceX rocket launches. #yolov9 #computervision

746 million people in world still don't have access to electricity.. For the ones that have access, world is in race to reduce carbon footprint of energy production... Renewables provide a solution but its not accessible everywhere and we are working on how to store and transport energy in many forms... Imagine.. For example, One day - Surplus clean electricity produced in Europe can power rural town in Asia and viceversa with long distance wireless power ! Currently wireless power works for small distances Commercial long range wireless electricity/power is still a work in progress.. A very few companies are working on making it reality. Emrods power beaming technology shows amazing potential. I see numerous applications for this- - Electricity infrastruture for remote locations for industries such as mining, - In case of power failure for areas with natural disasters - EV charging -and so much more What do you see as its future application?
Leaders in the energy and space industry gather to witness an EMROD system in action! We love seeing light bulbs go on when people realise what is possible with power-beaming technology. Featuring Greg Kushnir Helen Robinson, ONZM Astronauta Marcos Pontes Eric Dahlstrom Ray Simpkin. Video produced by Aaron Ly and Isaiah Tour . #wirelesspower #energyinnovation #climatetech

I'm kinda bummed – the grid pattern didn't come through well in the video, but there wasn't much we could do about that. Also, when I said, "let's make the background more interesting," it looks like I just made it solid black. I promise there was a radial gradient orb effect on the left and right sides! Okay, that's all my disclaimers. Curious to see what y'all thought of this! #website #websitedesign #companywebsite

How fast can a rocket be launched? Previous record was 21 days from notice. Great things happening in the rapid launch arena. The VICTUS NOX mission demonstrated that Tactically Responsive Space (TacRS) missions are capable of meeting urgent Combatant Commander needs on tactically relevant timelines. Firefly Aerospace accepted a #SpaceForce challenge to launch as fast as possible. 🚀 In Sept 2023 Firefly successfully launched the U.S. Space Force’s VICTUS NOX mission within 27 hours after receiving notice, shattering the previous record of 21 DAYS; demonstrating a critical capability for the United States to rapidly respond to on-orbit needs during a conflict or in response to a global national security threat.
