Such a great interactive and insightful session from Raymond Elferink and Tamsin Treasure-Jones from Kubify. Some of my takeaways: 💡Attendees are increasingly asking themselves “will this event be worth of my time”, which to me shows how event experiences need to be more engaging with great use of event tech and event design. 💡Research confirms that conferences are a major activity in the professional lives of academics, which I see as a confirmation of our mission to help professionals get the most out of these types of events. 💡Networking is obviously important, but what’s key is to understand that it’s all about “networking with purpose”, which reaffirms for me that in order to make a difference with our event engagement platform, understanding what our customers aim to achieve for their attendees is so important. It’s a people business after all! Loved it!

20 hours into my journey, while I sit in Vancouver Airport, I look forward to the week ahead. This week is the #MVPSummit, and so I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of other MVPs post similar things in the days leading up to this, so I’ll keep mine short and sweet. I think my good friend Daniel Apps posted an amazing summary of why some of us attend summit, I for one definitely get that recharge of my batteries at the event, finding fresh motivation and passion for the year ahead. It’s also an opportunity to put faces to names, and these days it’s something we don’t always do enough off. There is something different about how conversations happen remotely (via email or Teams or any virtual platform) once you’ve met someone face to face and talked with them. You can read their visual queues over teams a lot better, you can imagine their intonation when reading a message from them. It reduces the chance of people taking things the wrong way, as you become humans to each other and not just names on paper. And finally, it’s a chance for me to see some of my best friends, who normally live long distances away, but for this week, I get to spend some time with them. Of course, there is the event itself. Getting to hear about the direction of the products we champion for the community, and bring our feedback from that very community directly to the product groups themselves is priceless, and something that everyone wins from. But being an event of community champions, we can’t help but feel the community first, and the tech second. Bring on the week, I’m pumped! #MVPBuzz #Community

🚀 Did you know that 100% of Platinum communities (the top 10% on Circle) host events? And not just any events, but more of every kind. But here's the kicker: simply 'hosting events' isn't a strategy. It's like saying your strategy is 'publishing posts' or 'creating courses.' Strategy is your game plan for getting community members to do what you want, hitting goals now and down the line. Scroll through for a step-by-step guide to crafting a data-driven event strategy.

What were our key learnings from the #bgnetzerofestival last week? Reflecting on exhibiting at our first event last week there were many things we learnt; one of which is the more we learn about the Green Sector, the more we realise we don’t know! One of our key takeaways is that wayvie is on the right path! But, without developing the people (or soft) skills of people in the sector, then change will not happen quickly or effectively enough... ❌Collaboration will not be effective ❌ Managers and leaders will not create great teams ❌The “middle ground” of people who need to change, will not listen to the experts and will not take action So, at some point, your people performance will need improving and wayvie could be the key to that success. Three consistent themes came out of our conversations last week that are relevant to our clients and may be relevant to you: 💡People driving a sustainability message/agenda don’t have an endless supply of resilience and need additional support 💡Collaboration requires Emotional Intelligence which technical/academic organisations need to master 💡Persuading others to change involves using tried and tested sales skills that “green” people are uncomfortable embracing All of these are examples of how wayvie helps. 🚀So if this strikes a chord with you, then let’s talk now and be ready for when you are ready to invest in your people before it becomes a business critical moment. Thanks to BusinessGreen for organising such a brilliant event and for everyone who came to visit our stand! #greeneconomy #circulareconomy #peopledevelopment #purposedrivenbusiness

Earlier this year, from Motiv Venture Studio, we proudly launched Huddl—an innovative event engagement platform designed to enhance both attendee and organizer experiences. Here’s what Huddl achieved at the recent YYC Data Con 2024: ✅ Attendees personalized their event schedules to fit their interests. 🤝 'Networking Bingo' facilitated new and meaningful connections. 📸 A shared conference photo album allowed attendees to post and access memories live. 💬 Real-time engagement through live Q&A sessions with speakers. 🏆 Interactive activities with opportunities to win exclusive prizes. Huddl recorded 889 activations at YYC Data Con 2024, boosting meaningful interactions and providing organizers with crucial insights into engagement levels and attendee behaviours. These insights help organizers refine event strategies for greater impact. Big thank you to YYC Data Society for having us this year and Platform Calgary for the hospitality. 👀 Keep an eye out for upcoming events featuring Huddl on site. If you’re an event organizer, or know one, we’re eager to discuss our pilot program opportunities. Let's create new event experiences together! #MotivVentureStudio #Huddl #EventTech #Innovation

It's always fun when legit research institutions release a 253-page report validating everything you're doing in your life and business! Over the next few days, I'll be sharing some of the most fascinating insights I read in The Future 100, a research report by VML Intelligence and how I believe we should be using it to shape our programs in 2024. Thanks to Jody Costa for sharing this report with me! "Community and connection at scale are essential to 2024. Mass collective shared experiences are taking place around the world, bringing friends and strangers alike together." According to the report, there's a collective yearning to enrich life through Emotions, Experiences, and Connection. As you build out your customer and attendee engagement plans for 2024, here are a few things to consider: Where can you inject a sense of community into your programs? 🔸 Are you making people feel welcome as soon as they arrive with human interaction, not just frictionless registration? 🔸 Are you including peer-led discussions in your event agenda to allow participants to connect over shared challenges? Where can you form real communities within your activities? 🔸 Do you have a customer/partner/attendee advisory board with a plan to keep that group connected throughout the year? 🔸 Is there a site where participants can continue to stay in touch post-event or a way for them to keep conversations going via online gatherings? 🔸 Can you add special interest groups or executive experiences to bring smaller groups together at your events and throughout the year? How are you adding in shared experiences in to your event programs to help attendees connect emotionally? 🔸 Are you creating experiences that evoke a sense of adventure for your attendees to experience together through field trips, innovation tours, cultural experiences, or team bonding activities? 🔸 Are you adding competitions or activities where attendees get to celebrate or rally together to cheer someone on? Big things happen in small meetings, so anything you can do to create smaller subgroups within your programs to help people connect more deeply with each other will bring exponential results to everyone involved. #attendeeengagement #communitybuilding #CommunityasaService #SpontaneousThinkTank cc: Nicole Osibodu, XOXO Kamryn Bryce Read the full report at https://lnkd.in/dW8aDnhF

We are beyond excited to officially announce the next chapter of Creator Camp We're expanding how we do things this year—three specific things — by adding a season theme, making a documentary, and hosting the first-ever international Creator Camp summit. To kick things off, we’re also super excited to announce our first-ever season-long sponsors: RØDE and Notion (s/o Danielle Ito & Kalinda Atkinson) Here's the thing: we’ve traditionally held stand-alone events. However, we've come to realize that we can have a much larger impact if there is a cohesive narrative that spans across a series of events. From now on, each year will have an overarching theme that all our Creator Camp events work towards capturing 🏕 For 2024, our theme is Originality, broken down into three sub-categories: sustainable creativity, creative freedom, and innovative collaboration. Creativity isn’t tied down by maps 🗺 — amazing minds are everywhere, and we’re on a mission to bring this global family of creatives together. It’s about making our community richer, more diverse, and infinitely more inspiring. That is why our season's climax will be met with our first-ever international event 🌎 To wrap things up we'll be capturing all our efforts this year through a documentary 🎬 aimed at answering the question: “How can we create space for more original work to thrive outside of any algorithm or boundary?" and screening it with our entire community at the end of the year. 2024 is going to be an incredible year. We have one title sponsorship available for each event throughout our season. If you'd like to get involved feel free to email our amazing head of partnerships Danny Desatnik (danny@creatorcamp.co) #community #creatoreconomy #socialmedia
