Achieving our KPI is important but Let’s Celebrate 🍾 our Win as a Team WE MOVE 2023 has been so challenging for businesses and professionals ranging from economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, inflation, fluctuating currencies, and supply chain disruptions and this has impacted on business and individual performance and this doesn’t exclude retaining employees, navigating an unpredictable economy, and more. However irrespective of these multidimensional challenges, WE MOVE, some companies experienced growth and some struggle, also some employees go above and beyond to see that creative and innovative solutions are brought on board. Irrespective of the challenges it’s time to celebrate the progress and win we have made together as a team, we can’t over emphasis the contributions of each of our team members to the growth and success recorded. When we celebrate our team, it will energize the workforce, reinforce the team concept, and motivate individuals to strive for future success. Nothing brings a team together more effectively than success. Everything typically feels great when the wins are rolling in, and everybody has something to celebrate. Let’s start by doing any of this before the year end and going forward : Treating a hard-working employee to lunch, send a company-wide appreciation email from the CEO, Cater lunch for the whole team, Hand out gift cards or hamper to the team or Print out unique awards for each team member and schedule an awards ceremony. There's perk in volunteering. Last evening, the Board Advisors, Board Members and the Exco of MentorsHub got together for team bonding at Octave Institute Limited We immersed ourselves in a transformative culinary experience that aligns with mindfulness. We were grouped into 3 teams, each team customising their own spices and ingredients (herbs grown from the company's garden) to make their own version of vegetarian curry. Master Chef Jeremy Nguee and his team patiently explained the different herbs and ingredients. Each team is to work together to make the curry from scratch, there is no benchmark or recipe to follow. The analogy here is teamwork. As a team, no one dominates the conversation, each of us has a voice and collectively we agree on what works. We had fun working in our own teams and together with the rest. It was not the usual team bonding program. The highlight of the evening was the camaraderie and conversations over dinner and champagne. It's always great to meet up with fellow "colleagues" and not talk about work. Of course with this recharge, we are all ready to serve the 2024 cohort of mentees (our 10th) - to inspire them to live a life of purpose and significance.
