Our Policy Lead, Stephen Caulfield, was in Glasgow yesterday for #LearningPlacesScotland 2024. This conference and exhibition brings together learners, educators, designers, consultants, and manufacturers for discussion and collaboration on how we deliver high-quality learning spaces for all.   Though there is much work still to be done, we are encouraged by the growing recognition of the role that school and college estate design has on the experiences of people with Additional Support Needs (ASN) - and how trends towards expansive, open-plan (and noisy) spaces is negatively impacting the experiences of people with differences in sensory profile and social communication.

Currently around the world, First Nations communities are experiencing the devastating impacts of climate change harder than any other group. Islands that hold song and story through time are sinking, grand plains of grass and migration are disappearing, and the disparity of self-determination in facing climate change in our communities are amplifying the many preventable issues to the loss of life and knowledge. To speak of climate change is to speak to the challenges our people face today.
