Excited to share my new edX Verified Certificate for "Rethink the City: New Approaches to Global and Local Urban Challenges", an Architecture and Urban Planning course by TU Delft. This programme explored critical issues in the Global South, focusing on Spatial Justice, innovative Housing Provision, and Sustainable Urban Transitions. We critically examined applying the 'just city' framework to areas with extreme inequality, evaluated community-led housing initiatives, and discussed balancing environmental sustainability with social justice. The course provided valuable analytical tools and fresh perspectives on urban environments in developing countries, blending architectural and planning approaches. These insights have been also instrumental in my Master's thesis on Spatial Justice in Latin America, enhancing my understanding of the region's complex challenges. #UrbanPlanning #Architecture #SpatialJustice #Housing #SustainableUrbanTransitions #GlobalSouth #ContinuingEducation

In 2025 will be teaching again Urban Morphological Mapping [ https://lnkd.in/gwRDhH9H ], an elective for bachelor of design students majoring in #UrbanPlanning, #Architecture, #Landscape, #Property and #SpatialSystems. It is part of the 'Towards Practice' informal specialisation, and the #urbandesign & #urbanplanning 'Breadth Track'. It introduces the field of urban morphological analysis and a range of mapping techniques. The final assignment can contribute to a portfolio demonstrating skills that are highly sought in practice, and aligned with admission criteria to Master courses. ARCHITEKTUR MACHT SCHULE! Our September/October newsletter focuses on how school buildings are always a reflection of societal development. We need spaces that promote social skills, encourage independence, and help children and young people find orientation in a rapidly changing world. In short, educational institutions today see themselves as "spaces for teams". A well-structured spatial framework where individuals collaborate in various configurations, along with areas for retreat to foster individual concentration or relaxation. These educational buildings and their outdoor spaces are places of encounter where children and young people can grow together, develop a sense of community, unleash creativity, and practice democracy. Blaklash are looking forward to delivering an event that speaks to the inequity of climate impacts, the responsibility of the built environment in addressing these issues, and the demand for social justice in the face of climate change. Currently around the world, First Nations communities are experiencing the devastating impacts of climate change harder than any other group. Islands that hold song and story through time are sinking, grand plains of grass and migration are disappearing, and the disparity of self-determination in facing climate change in our communities are amplifying the many preventable issues to the loss of life and knowledge. To speak of climate change is to speak to the challenges our people face today.
