That's a wrap for #BESummit2024, and a huge thanks to the Breakthrough Energy team for putting on an incredible event and especially to Jonathan Eckart, Mario Fernandez and Ann Mettler for putting Topsoe as part of this innovation ecosystem. #BreakthroughEnergy's mission when they formed around 10 years ago was to create an #innovationecosystem, and that's exactly what I experienced this week in London. Inspiring messages from Bill Gates, Eric Toone and many others. As Rodi Guidero pointed out, London has probably not seen so many innovators and thought leaders since the industrial revolution!   The assembly of so many innovators and optimists was just what I needed. New perspectives gained and ideas formed to tackle our biggest challenges. It's been a tough year for those working in the energy transition. We're still lacking clarity on legislation and despite good progress its still too slow. The industry is facing numerous supply chain challenges, we're witnessing a slowing of the renewable build-out despite agreeing to #triplerenewables at #COP28,.    Together with my colleagues from Topsoe, our message was the urgent need to shift our collective mindset regarding energy transition costs. We simply cannot set ambitious targets then complain about the cost of achieving them. It's time for developed nations to stop dragging their feet and commit to real action – there is no time to lose.   Topsoe's ready, we are innovating daily to be able to scale Power-to-X solutions to decarbonize transportation and numerous carbon intensive industries with fossil fuel alternatives.

In 2023, 16 investment projects in France came from Norway (16% of Nordic projects). Presenting the Project! Part two – The Project Partners Klimapartner Südbaden e.V. (DE) Climate protection is teamwork. It only works sustainably if a wide variety of skills work together in a regional context - at all levels. The strength of the non-profit organization Klimapartner Südbaden lies in the great commitment of its employees, committees and 142 active members. The association initiates, coordinates and manages regional projects and strategy processes that accelerate a sustainable, climate- and grandchild-friendly transformation of the South Baden region. The association's specific fields of action are the topics of sustainable heat transition, ecological transformation of industry and hydrogen. In the context of hydrogen, the association launched the tri-national hydrogen initiative 3H2 in 2022 together with partners from France and Switzerland: Together with the Pôle véhicule du futur and the H2Hub Switzerland, the climate partners are working to develop a regional hydrogen economy in the French-Swiss-German border region. The aim is to develop and implement cross-border infrastructure projects to ensure that companies based in the region are supplied with renewably produced hydrogen. Our Head of Special Projects and Partnerships, Caterina Cobino, joined the roundtable on the adoption of renewable and low-carbon fuels in maritime and aviation organized by the Renewable and Low-Carbon Fuels Value Chain Industrial Alliance (#RLCF Alliance) at the European Parliament.   As chair of the Maritime pillar of this key alliance, we are fully engaged in the green transition, leading the development of the whole value chain, to a cleaner, sustainable and competitive ecosystem.    This transformation represents a critical change for the sector with a massive impact on the European economy.
