Julian Meitanis, Class of 2000, says we all need to work together to create a sustainable future. And, as Director of Corporate Sustainability Services at KPMG, he knows what he's talking about. A low carbon economy will only come about if everybody’s on board, he points out. “Every company will have to deal with the consequences of either adapting to climate change or mitigating its effects. If ZIS pioneers solar power and hits its goal of 100 per cent renewable energy by 2030, that will give momentum for others to follow." And we’re getting there – our first solar panels will be installed next month. But if we’re going to hit our goal, we need everyone to play their part. A insightful report from Institute of Welsh Affairs on ensuring all of Wales benefits from the transition to renewable energy. Sustainable renewable energy has the potential to transform Wales as a sustainable energy-producing nation and see the benefits directly invested into our communities. Having seen the impact of community funds, there is incredible potential for local communities to directly benefit from the duration of energy production. A Wales Wealth Fund could further this, and directly contribute to the wider economy and the benefit of future generations. From an arts sector perspective, I see huge potential for sustainable funding building on the funding already in place which is supporting arts and cultural activity in local communities across Wales https://lnkd.in/e89svZch
