Men of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire - we need your help... Juno Women's Aid is currently fighting what the National Police Chiefs' Council describes as an "epidemic of offending", with a recent report showing a 37% increase in violent crimes against women and girls since 2018. In total, the charity has supported nearly 3,000 women and more than 500 children in the last year - up six and nine per cent respectively on the previous 12 months. Tasarla L., Yasmin Rehman and the team do an incredible job but they need more support, which is where #Notts500 comes in. The idea behind #Notts500 is two-fold. On a fundamental level, it's asking men for a £2 per month donation to the charity to help fund its vital work supporting survivors of domestic violence and abuse. But beyond that, it's about starting the conversation. It's about enabling change and making sure we raise the next generation in the right way. As men, we have a responsibility to hold each other to account and tackle the spiral of domestic violence – we want #Notts500 to be a conversation starter that leads to real change in terms of attitudes, outlooks and awareness. I'm incredibly proud to stand alongside Kevin Smith, Amani Darr and Al Booth as ambassadors for this campaign, and I would urge all men to pledge that £2 per month and be part of the change. https://lnkd.in/eqteSvxC
As part of our ongoing support of Juno Women's Aid, our director Tom Snee has been named as an ambassador for the newly launched Notts500 campaign. The initiative calls on 500 men across Nottinghamshire to pledge £2 a month in support of women and families affected by domestic violence. In the photo, Tom is joined by fellow ambassadors Kevin Smith of Marchini Curran Associates - Architects and Designers, TDX Group's Amani Darr, Notts TV presenter Al Booth and Tasarla Larner, Juno’s fundraising and communications manager. As Tom puts it: “While the money raised will be of huge support to the charity’s ongoing essential work with survivors, the Notts500 campaign is as much about advocacy and ensuring that conversations are being had and action is being taken.” Join us in standing up to violence against women - pledge your support today and make a difference. 🔗 Join the campaign here: https://lnkd.in/eregYfjX #Notts500 #StandAgainstViolence #JunoWomensAid #EndDomesticViolence

Take a guess: How many bed nights did Toora Women inc. provide to women and children in crisis last year? That's one of the many measures Toora uses when monitoring its services for women in crisis. Supporting Toora Women is a key pillar in Artemis' Social Impact strategy, and we thank our strategy gun Kamini Davenport for working with Toora's Board, Executive, stakeholders and wider team to help Toora progress its critical work. Did you guess? Was it close to 57,561 bed nights? Those were nights when women and children in crisis could feel safe and supported. Please keep Toora Women in mind for your fundraising and donations - they are just one click away. #toorawomen #artemispartners #socialimpact #consulting

Who are the forgotten women? Why care about somebody I don't know? It doesn't impact me, so I don't need to bother myself with it..... Let's break the stigma and their silence, stand up, and educate ourselves and those around us. Support those without a voice and those who are too scared, embarrassed, or worried about judgment! 'The Forgotten Women', over 40,000 Queensland women over the age of 55 are homeless. Sadly this figure is due to increase twofold by 2036! With over 700 based in greater Brisbane. That is 700 women who are someone’s aunt, mother, or grandmother, struggling to keep their heads above water, often doing so in silence. I am calling all my LinkedIn friends, family and colleagues, Stand with me and support my team, we are taking on the Live Like Her Challenge 2024 to help more homeless women over 55 into homes. For one night, we will sleep in a car to raise awareness and funds for The Forgotten Women project, an initiative that is close to our hearts. This initiative hits close to home for me. I have seen close friends struggle to find suitable accommodation for their families, especially elderly mothers and grandmothers who have even had to couch surf with only the clothes on their backs and without the medication some need due to having to decide which bill to pay, the house, power or food?? We can never judge one's circumstances, but we can certainly change our thought process and help rather than hinder. For some, homelessness is due to financial strain, domestic violence and, in some situations, families who don't want anything to do with them. In a situation most of us could never imagine, these women often hold their heads high and suffer in silence, but they deserve a warm, safe home. Let's help raise awareness for such a worthy cause. To support us, click “Donate Now” to make a secure online donation as “Everyone deserves to live with dignity and age securely in place”. https://lnkd.in/gNZuyqEJ All donations over $2 are tax-deductible, and you’ll receive an automatic receipt via email. Thank you for your generosity and support. In the great words of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” 👨👩👧👧 👭 👬 💛 #LLHC2024 #livelikeherchallenge #empowerchange #educateyourself #joinmetomakeachage #homelessness #livelikeherchallange2024 #theforgettenwomen #communityservice #inittogether #fundraise #brisbane #qld #womenmatter #family #beboldbebrave #communityimpact #initiative #breakthesilence #downerutilities
👭 Our #Water team will be participating in the 'Live Like Her Challenge 2024', an initiative to raise awareness and funds for 'The Forgotten Women Project.' ❤️ Alice Austin is leading the Downer effort alongside Caitriona Floyd, Jo Rogers, Emily Auchettl-McHugh, Samantha J. and Aleisha-Marie Billing to help highlight the increasing number of homeless women over 55 facing hardship and sleeping in their cars. 🙏 If you would like to support the team and make a donation towards this worthy cause, please follow the link: https://lnkd.in/gBf4DqH9) #LLH2024 #LiveLikeHerChallenge

Founder| Fundraiser | Accidental Activist | Speaker. Follow me for stories around LGBTQIA+ and gender.
I talk a lot on here about the lack of funding for women. I see it so much with the businesses I run and those of my peers. It's sad to see it goes beyond business and into the not for profit sector. This may be research from 2021, but my gut is not much has changed. And As we are in #BlackHistoryMonth this research shows this funding is even smaller for charities that support minority communities and are female run. https://lnkd.in/eUNtTAkD #fundwomen

Funders, this is the kind of stuff that makes grant writers (like me) pull their hair out! Think about and discuss how your practices are harming nonprofits - and then rework them! #grantwriting #grantwriter #foundation
Today’s call out is for Women Helping Women Fund Tri-Cities, whose grantees HAVE TO PAY in order to receive their grants. Specifically, each organization is required to fill a table of ten at the annual luncheon, at a minimum “donation” of $100 per person. So not only do grantees have to come up with $1,000 to get their grants, but they have to tap into their networks in order to fill their tables. That is after spending the money to print eleven paper copies of their application plus eight attachments, and deliver them in person. Yes, in-person delivery is required. The funder doesn’t publish grant amounts on their website, but our contact says they are typically $2,500 to $25,000. Regardless of size though, these are extremely #CrappyFundingPractices! Frustrated by #CrappyFundingPractices? Tell us about it here!📢 https://lnkd.in/gStX7dBd
