Emirates to Operate New A350F and 777-8F Aircraft for Cargo Flights Emirates (EK) is considering Airbus A350F and Boeing 777-8F to establish a freighter fleet comprising current-generation 777Fs, 777-300ER conversions, and a next-generation large widebody aircraft. The airline headquartered in Dubai recognizes the requirement for a long-distance, heavy-duty freighter capable of transporting 110-120 tonnes. The competition between Boeing and Airbus to develop their next-generation widebody freighters, the 777-8F and A350F, heated up in 2023 as they aimed to fill the gap left by the absence of the 747. While both the 777-8F and A350F programs received victories in 2022, for the most part 2023 was not without headlines. Turkish Airlines Postpones 600 Aircraft Order Over Engine Options Turkish Airlines has postponed its planned order for 600 aircraft due to the mounting issues with engines that power both Airbus and Boeing planes. The airlines planned to order approximately 400 narrowbody and 200 widebody jets. According to the Chairman of Turkish Airlines, Ahmed Bolat, the order will include the Airbus A320neo family, A350s, Boeing 737 MAXs, 787s, and 777-9s. SpiceJet: Operates more than 10 Boeing 737 Max aircraft, including Max-8 planes. Air India Express: Operates 9 Boeing 737 Max aircraft, including Max-8 planes These airlines have been asked to carry out the inspections on their Boeing 737-8 Max planes and report any findings or concerns to the regulatory authority. These aircrafts have been modified by our STC, IPR Conversions (Switzerland) Ltd. The photo in the Cargo Facts post is a bit old, as it shows the first aircraft modified by IPR Conversion with a Large Cargo Door - but we are pleased to see it again. This photo reminds us of the journey IPR Conversion has taken since this first modification. We have overcome numerous challenges to get these modifications, approved in 2000, back on track. - Upgrading the STCs to the latest ATR standards - Restarting and even creating supply chains, managing obsolescences - Digitizing all the drawings - Creating clear Service Bulletins - Developing the tooling... 🔴 BOEING 737 MAX 9 UPDATE: India's Aviation Authority Orders Immediate Checks On All Of Country's Boeing 737 MAXs India’s aviation regulator, The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has ordered one-time inspections on the emergency exits of all Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft operated by three airlines in the country. The move is similar to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) order to inspect select Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft after the AS1282 incident on January 5. The order is a precaution, as no Indian carrier operates the MAX 9 variant. However, given the aircraft type’s troubling past, the regulator is mandating that checks are performed immediately.
