In few days I will be presenting our paper (and beyond it!) at Tecniplast 's #DVF3 forum. I am thrilled to collect critical feedback and comments on the concept that a Minimal Metadata Set (MNMS) may enable repurposing of nonclinical in-vivo data on a global scale. Implementation of MNMS will be a quantum leap forward for the #3Rs and #animalwelfare . I will highlight the central role of Core Facilities in the adoption of MNMS and how this adoption will change biomedical research via multi-center studies, therefore boosting external validity and translational power of our findings. Bonus point: few examples from home cage monitoring technologies and behavior discovery! Key Players (in random order!): Stefano Gaburro, PhD, CCP , Eoin O'Connor , Anastasios Moresis , Alexandra Bannach-Brown, PhD , Giorgio Rosati , Michael Tsoory , Gunnar Flik , Fabrizio Scorrano , Sophie Bromilow, COST_TEATIME Paper: https://lnkd.in/eGfSrqp5 DVF3: https://lnkd.in/eCumMBf6 And here is the first slide of my presentation :)

Exploring the World of Science: The Importance of the Meniscus! 🔍 Hello LinkedIn community! 👋✨ Today, let's dive into a fascinating aspect of laboratory work - the meniscus! 🧪 The meniscus, that slight curve you observe in a liquid's surface when measuring in a graduated cylinder, plays a crucial role in accurate volume determination. 📊 At Glasscolabs, we understand that precision is key in scientific endeavors. The meniscus forms due to the capillary action of liquids, allowing for more accurate readings. It's not just a curve; it's a scientific marvel! 🌐💡 For an in-depth look into the significance of the meniscus, we've prepared a detailed document. 📖 Let's keep the conversation going! Share your thoughts and experiences with the #MeniscusMagic. 🚀✨ #Glasscolabs #ScientificPrecision #LabTech #MeniscusAwareness #ScienceInFocus #LabLife #InnovationInScience

Yesterday in Padova we had a kick-off meeting for DELIMIT (Discovering the Effectors of LIfestyle-driven Memory enhancement via InflammaTion), a new project funded by a PRIN Italian grant. The collaboration between three research groups (PIs Mathew Diamond, Marco Mainardi, and serena bovetti) aims at elucidating the precise cellular, molecular and functional mechanisms through which environmental enrichment results in better cognitive performance via modulation of inflammation, paving the way to the design of “enviromimetic” drugs. My contribution to the project will be adapting the complex behavioral task I designed for my Ph.D. research and using it to test the cognitive effects of making animals mentally "older" or "younger" as compared to a standard cohort. Can't wait to start!
