Aker BP concludes every year with a townhall highlighting deliveries the organisation is proud of – large and small. The competition is called “To be proud of”, and the jury is the Executive Management Team in Aker BP. Another winner of 2023 is the Yggdrasil Common system design freeze. Before the summer, the Yggdrasil development passed the common system design freeze. Then, the interfaces and battery limits relevant for the common systems are frozen, and all field system responsible identified. Reaching this milestone was crucial for the further maturation and coming engineering milestones in the Yggdrasil development. The Yggdrasil area consists of three independent platforms, tie-ins of subsea fields, onshore power from shore facilities, onshore operations centre and a ground-breaking operations strategy. 6th MGP Contract Award for Offshore Greenfield Development   This week we celebrate the recognition of IEV's Net-Zero “ocean-powered” Marine Growth Preventer (MGP) solution following the receipt of the 6th award from the same customer who operates large oil & gas concessions in Southeast Asia. A total of 16 platforms were fitted with the MGP at the fabrication yard prior to deployment over the past 14 years.   The platforms are protected from marine growth colonization right from the date of installation, hence benefiting from a zero-growth profile in the wave zone where reduced cyclic stresses result in a prolonged fatigue life and lower wave forces offer protected structures a higher structural capacity to withstand extreme ocean forces and enhance Reserved Strength Ratio. Inspection of critical components such as risers and caissons in the highly corrosive splash zone environment can also be carried out without prior removal of marine fouling. This hazardous task of periodic cleaning for divers and ROVs in the wave zone can be eliminated if offshore structures are pre-fitted with MGPs. #antifouling #offshorewindfarm #offshoreoilandgas #structuralintegrity #oilandgasindustry #jetty https://lnkd.in/gS6D8BFZ

Abraham Maslow With 2 decades across 3 international locations, I have had the privilege to apply Suncor's value of "Curiosity and Life Long Learning" to its fullest. Along the way I have learnt from some great mentors, both from those I have sought and those I have accidentally encountered. A key learning has been a shift to empower others to act by removing as many barriers as possible, so that those that want to make their vision a reality can do so. In doing I have had the pleasure to witness numerous individuals and teams achieve career highs and return significant value. A few successes of those teams included: - Leading the cultural and system redesign to adopt "process/ lean management" unifying 3 separate businesses (Mining, E&P and In Situ) and 12 producing assets. Providing the right subsurface data, in the right format, every time. - Simplifying and standardizing the work that encourages a learning organization, where ideas can be rapidly shared regardless of org or asset boundaries. An example is bringing Drilling (Mining, Offshore and SAGD) to one application to further help thrive in the digital age. - Creating a greenfield development strategy of "concentric growth" that maximizes existing regional infrastructure while optimizing sunk capital cost and extend the life of ageing assets. - Acceptance by the Libyan NOC to have Suncor's preferred field development plan approved. A first for any non-Libyan IOC. - PM to a number of successful commercial deals, including acquisition of Rosebank WI and deep-water Nova Scotia Shelburne license. - Stand-in Chief Geologist with mentoring of staff and QA/QC of work including new country entry evaluations. - Office opening of Norway with building out a high quality portfolio leading to the exploration and first-oil to the Oda oil field. - Successful UK oil discoveries in the Inner Moray Firth. Over my Suncor career I have been lucky to simply act as a cheerleader to so many who have demonstrated non-wavering all-in commitment with the capabilities to deliver. Its not often that companies open up their hearts and minds to their competitors and peers, but on March 28th at the Chester Hotel, Aberdeen, Shell UK, AF Offshore Decom and Able UK will do exactly that, and share events at their facilities that did not go well; what happened, why it happened and what they have done to prevent recurrence. This will be lessons learned on steroids. We will also have Kishorn Port Ltd showing us how they are setting up for success on their current project and beyond, while MRS Training and Rescue will demonstrate how to stay safe while working in enclosed spaces. Step Change in Safety will describe what's in their safety toolbox. The day will conclude with a workshop to capture the key issues and actions to take forward, which will be recorded in 'Menti'. Doors open and they close. Sometimes we are lucky enough to be the ones to close the door behind us, yet, with the quality and quantity of positive memories this does not make the path chosen any easier to make. The last 4.5 years has been a period where I have gained an incredible set of #knowledge and #skills from once in a lifetime #experiences, that I have shared with an incredible group of people at ExxonMobil. A group which I joined after moving from #Houston, back to #Australia. Over this period, we achieved; - One of the most technically challenging P&A campaigns (both operationally and engineering wise) completed to date (in #PNG). - I spent 200 days straight in PNG (During #Covid) helping successfully complete the above #project. - On returning I transferred to the Bass Straight #offshore #team and together we P&A’d multiple platforms, smashing #budget and #schedule records along the way. - We implemented new procedural #efficiencies and tested new #technologies. - As an individual I completed my #PMP, #MBA and #GAICD to which Exxon were #supportive of my needs during this period. But most of all, I met amazing individuals who I shared this journey with, who have become some of my best of #alliances, #champions and #friends. Growth requires us to make difficult decisions with #conviction, #challenge our #mindset and walk the path less trodden. PLEXUS HOLDINGS PLC (AIM:POS) shares rose 15% to 25.4p after the oil and gas engineering services business highlighted a "milestone" contract win for its wellhead engineering technology collaboration with SLB (Schlumberger).  The AIM-quoted company said it expects equipment rental revenues in the region of £100,000 for the contract, which it said was secured with a major North Sea company via SLB as licensor for the technology. Its Exact adjustable wellhead and Centric mudline suspension systems will be used by SLB for the plug and abandonment (P&A) project, for which work will take place in the final quarter of the year, it said in a statement. Plexus said the contract builds on the ongoing relationship with SLB and shows its "growing reputation in the field of adjustable wellhead and mudline technology".
