The Financial Times, in collaboration with its research partners Statista and Sifted, has compiled a ranking of Europe’s top 125 incubators and accelerators. 🚀 The hubs included vary from offshoots of established universities, to corporate incubators, to fully commercial accelerators. With 16 listed hubs, 🇩🇪 Germany is home to the second largest numbers of those listed - after the 🇬🇧 UK with 24. How were the hubs rated? 1️⃣ its own alumni in six categories: mentoring and training development; infrastructure; legal assistance; business development; networking; and funding. 2️⃣ Independent experts, including angel investors, VCs, entrepreneurs and academics, also added their evaluations. 3️⃣ additional scores were awarded, according to the most successful start-ups to have emerged from each hub. ➡ Check out the 16 German hubs that made it into Europe’s top 125. The Brightlands Startup league is “a complete support package that will help you boost your innovative product”. Entrepreneurs and burgeoning entrepreneurs can register online for one of a number of activities. For example, a one-on-one counselling session with an expert in the health, sustainability or digitalization industries who can gauge the stage your company or idea is at and discuss what steps could be made to grow or expand. There are also networking events on offer, and up to 10 masterclasses each year. All the activities take place in Limburg – mostly in the Maastricht Region – but applicants don’t have to be from Limburg to be able to take part in them. What is the Innovation ecosystem map of Europe? This map makes it clear to you the countries with the most densely number of startups and capital raised. In Europe, Great Britain(Greater London) has the highest number of scaleups as regards from the innovation ecosystem map. It has the highest concentration of startups in its economy. It has 3,227 scaleups and a capital raised of $110.6B. Followed by France (Paris), having a number of 1,656 scaleups and a capital raised worth $45.4B. Germany(Berlin) is third in the list and it has 870 scaleups in its economy and a capital raised of 41.2B. And fourth in Europe is Sweden( Stockholm county), which have a number of 683 scaleups and a capital raised worth of $34.6B. There are various countries who are still on the ladder to climb and in the coming years we might see other countries in Europe taking the lead to the top due to the increase in Innovation investments.
