🏙 #DYK that cities consume 2/3 of global energy and emit over 70% of CO2? To meet our energy and climate goals, we need to double our #energyefficiency efforts by 2030. This means smarter #heating and #cooling, #sectorcoupling, and #strongpartnerships. But how do we scale up the process? 🤔 Alfa Laval has teamed up with experts in the field- including Euroheat & Power - to identify 10 key recommendations for cities, industry peers, and policymakers regarding how to accelerate the energy transition with cities as change arenas for a more sustainable future! 💪 To do so, we need to: 🤝 Consider both #electricity AND heat to reach #netzero ❄ Think about district cooling as a way to reduce electricity demand 🗺 Focus on geographical, area-based programs to improve energy efficiency  ♻ Promote and enable waste heat recovery and sector coupling Facilitating waste heat recovery and 🔓 De-risk and manage upfront capital costs for clean heat projects 📏 Implement standardisation to accelerate the energy transition 🖥 Increase efficiency in the district energy sector through digitalization  📈 Highlight district energy as an accelerator for economic growth 📚 Provide future skills and explore the future through #academia 🏙 Recognise #districtheating & #cooling as a sector to promote awareness and address the blind spots in policy making, and city planning. Join us in transforming awareness into action. Let’s build sustainable cities together! 🍀 Read the recommendation paper now ➡ https://bit.ly/3zjIalU ENGIE| E.ON| Kraftringen| Ramboll| Aurubis
