Would the children and young people you work with say that you're a good listener? Today marks the start of #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek and the theme this year is 'My Voice Matters' 📣. Place2Be reminds us that 1 in 6 children and young people have a diagnosable mental health condition - which is why it's so important for all of us to listen to children and young people and enable them to express themselves. We often talk about the positive effects of educational visits and outdoor learning on mental health and wellbeing. Aside from the experiences themselves, connections to nature, building self-confidence and the rest, educational visits can also provide the opportunity to listen to children and talk with them in a different environment. This #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek, and when you're planning your educational visits, think about this question: - How can you start positive mental health conversations with your children and young people today? https://lnkd.in/dCiYMciE Find resources online at https://lnkd.in/d5BAXqB to use in and out of school.

Why Teaching Kids About Mental Health is a Game Changer 🌟 Imagine if every child had the tools to understand and handle their emotions, bounce back from challenges, and seek support when needed. Educating kids about mental health does just that! By nurturing emotional intelligence from an early age, we help them build resilience, break down stigma, and embrace open conversations. This foundational knowledge empowers them to face life's ups and downs with confidence and empathy. Investing in their mental health education today sets them up for a future of well-being and strength. 🌱💪 So let's not hesitate to talk about mental health and emotional regulation to our kids. It is must! #MentalHealthMatters #EmpowerTheFuture #BuildResilience

Mental Health Awareness Week includes you teachers, too. That's why STEER's toolkit is not only trying to reduce and improve the mental health risks of your students, but also lifts off the heavy load for teachers who are providing that support. And as one new STEER user recently put it, “You no longer need a Level 3 in social work or a BTEC in counselling to accurately identify vulnerable pupils because STEER does it for you”. Let's support our teachers and give them the tools they need! That way, both teachers and students can thrive. #mentalhealthawarenessweek Mental Health Foundation

Combining both Passions as Founder of Jamica Early Childhood Photography & Design. Photography is not my Job, it’s my Passion . Passionate about Early Childhood Education
In the conversation surrounding mental health, much attention is rightly given to adults, but what about a vital yet often overlooked area: early awareness in children? Mental health doesn't begin in adulthood; it starts in childhood. The early experiences children have shape their emotional and psychological development, laying the groundwork for their future well-being. By instilling awareness and understanding in children from a young age, we can equip them with invaluable coping skills and resilience for life's challenges. How can we prioritize mental health education and support for our youngest generation? I invite experts in this field to share their ideas. #ChildrensMentalHealth #EarlyAwareness #MentalHealthEducation #EarlyChildhoodEducation"

I teach parents practical, effective strategies to help their anxious kids manage meltdowns and live a happy life free from the grips of the anxiety gremlin.
Today marks the start of Children's Mental Health Awareness Week so I'll be sharing a few tips throughout the week that I hope you'll find helpful. Did you know? Reading and writing has a huge positive impact on children's mental health. Children who are the most engaged with literacy are THREE TIMES more likely to have higher levels of mental wellbeing than children who are the least engaged (39.4% vs 11.8% Clark & Teravainen-Goff, 2018) Children who read say that it helps them to relax and feel happy.
