I just happened to pick up today's TOI copy at the office, and the first page looked different, intriguing, and, in all honesty, simply beautiful. Upon close observation, I noticed it was actually Samsung India's ad. But after scanning the QR code, I witnessed marketing innovation at its finest! Samsung has leveraged mixed reality to leave viewers spellbound. While Samsung's creative approach is inspiring, Flam deserves special recognition for crafting this magical experience. Kudos to Flam, the AI-powered platform behind this sorcery! #MarketingInnovation #MixedReality #Advertising

This episode of #MarketingMonday is an appreciation post for Samsung Ads. In their recent advertisement titled "Can your Apple do that?" starring Jaden Smith, they're receiving amazing reactions around the world. To sum up those reactions, I’ll use these emojis: "😎🔥" The ad mainly focuses on the features of the Samsung phone and does not(😉) mock Apple in the process. It's great to see big brands in the ring again after a long time, especially following their hit campaign in 2023 titled "Join the flip side," also by Samsung. So, what do these ads do? They build brand recall and further increase their reach, but the most important benefit of ads like these is customer loyalty. Every brand wants your time and attention, and ads like these make it a bit easier to engage with them. For anyone interested, here is the link to the ad: https://lnkd.in/dDNGg4mX #Marketingmonday #Samsung #Apple #Brands #Marketing #Advertisement

This is Samsung directly targeting Apple. All of the 'Genius' ads begin by immediately capturing attention. In this ad, Samsung features an apple, creating intrigue, and then showcases its new Galaxy S24 Ultra. The advertisement concludes with a provocative statement. This Samsung ad is brilliant because it reignites the age-old debate between Apple and Samsung. Apple has used similar marketing strategies in the past, which we’ve already covered. #branding #marketing #commercial #advertisement #samsung #apple

Samsung Electronics has jumped into the conversation sparked by Apple’s controversial 'Crushed' ad with a new spot for their Tab S9 series. The ad, carrying the message that "creativity cannot be crushed," aims to counter Apple's narrative and celebrate the resilience of creative expression. Reactions to Samsung's ad have however been mixed. Some feel that Samsung's message missed the mark, interpreting it as a direct attack on Apple's approach rather than a standalone statement. They argue that the ad seems reactionary and fails to highlight the unique features of the Tab S9. On the other hand, many believe Samsung effectively capitalized on the controversy, reinforcing their commitment to creativity and innovation. They appreciate the positive spin, seeing it as a reassurance to creatives that their tools and skills remain invaluable despite advancing technology. Now, we'd love to hear your thoughts! What do you think about reactive marketing? Did Samsung hit the right note with their ad, or could they have approached it differently? Drop your comments and suggestions on how Samsung could have responded better.

Client Director | Supporting the world’s biggest and most ambitious brands to create the most effective advertising.
Whilst the marketing world debates and over intellectualises the relative merits of crushing / un-crushing / scavenging creative devices and the remnants of humanity, here is a much better ad Samsung Electronics previously launched. This ad gets the product benefits across in a way which is more joyful and less sinister than either of the recent Apple or Samsung efforts. Crucially, that's not just my opinion - but actually based on consumer's feeling, which I'm lead to believe is fairly important when you're creating ads for things you would like people to buy... ⭐ Star score is a whopping 5.8 (the ceiling is 5.9) putting it in the top 0.1% of all ads tested - predicting significant potential for market share growth 🦔 Exceptional Spike rating of 1.77 - so we would expect the Flip to fly off the fixtures 📱 Exceptional brand Fluency. Nearly everyone knew who the ad was for The result? The Samsung Flip brand continues to grow from strength to strength - with sales up 10% YOY. So instead of making ads to make a point, be smart like Samsung and make ads which actually work, and leave a lasting impression. I'll leave the link to the report in the comments so you can see for yourself.
