At ReMo, we're on a mission to ensure that shelter becomes a basic human right. To achieve this, we believe fundamental changes are necessary within the modular industry and the construction sector at large—it’s time for a paradigm shift. 🌐 Nobody Has a Monopoly on Innovation Right now, the potential for innovation in modular construction is as boundless as it is in the automotive, aerospace, and semiconductor industries. Reaching this zenith of innovation requires us to rethink our approach and foster collective action across the industry. 🛠️ Moving Towards a More Collaborative Future Imagine a world where creating homes is as streamlined and standardized as developing software. We're advocating for a "GitHub for homes" – a platform that encourages easy collaboration and standardization of components. This is not just about enhancing the efficiency of construction but about building a supply chain that's resilient, redundant, and ready for the future. 🏗️ Join Us This Wednesday to Shape the Future This Wednesday, join ULI Los Angeles, ULI Orange County/Inland Empire, and the ReMo team as we tackle the housing crisis and industry stagnation head-on. 💬 ULI Orange County/Inland Empire: Sustainable Modular Homes- Designing Tomorrow's Dwellings 📅 Wednesday, April 3rd 🕞 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM 📍 The ReMo Homes factory in Gardena Learn more about ReMo's innovative approach to introducing new residential supply to the market, challenging century-old methods to shape a sustainable and accessible future of housing. 🎤 4:00-4:45 PM | Guest speaker discussion 🏠 4:45-5:00 PM | Exclusive tour of our prototype home 🍻 5:00-6:00 PM | Networking & happy hour at Eureka Brewing Company 🔗 The deadline to register is April 2—be sure to secure your spot: https://lnkd.in/gQgXgZSu #remohomes #modular #ULILosAngeles #ULIOrangeCounty #ULI #Gardena #networking #sustainability #HousingCrisis #housing Matt Horton Allegra Roza Susie Ogihara Violeta Aguilar-Wyrick, MPP Brandon Barney Ryan Blowers Vamsi Kumar Kotla ULI Los Angeles Young Leaders Group (YLG) Jeff La Tourette Ramin Faramarzi, PE Sammy Houssainy

Since 2015, Mark Cavagnero Associates, has designed core hospitality spaces in multiple Salesforce offices around the globe, transforming their workspaces to deepen the company’s commitment to “Ohana”—a Hawaiian term for “family” that describes their value system. We are proud to announce the recent completion of specialty spaces within Salesforce’s office towers in Chicago, Illinois; Dublin, Ireland; Hyderabad, India; and Sydney, Australia. Designed to reflect the uniqueness of each urban locale while creating a cohesively branded experience, our work for Salesforce includes lobby areas, customer conference centers, as well as “Ohana Floors”—flexible, nature-inspired social spaces open to all Salesforce employees, customers, and nonprofit community partners. These collectively minded interiors—which are united by indoor gardens and “living column” systems, abundant daylight, and a simple earthly palette of materials like slate stone and teak wood—are meant to foster cross-functional collaboration, particularly with organizations and foundations focusing on environmental, educational, and humanitarian causes. Featured amenities include outdoor terraces, event areas, auditoriums, barista bars, exhibition kitchens, and gathering areas offering a range of seating styles from residential-style soft chairs to library-inspired communal worktables. Additional projects designed by our firm include Salesforce offices in San Francisco, New York, Indianapolis, Atlanta, London, Amsterdam, Munich, and Tokyo. #architecture #architecturaldesign #salesforce 📷 Sydney – ©Pixel Collective Pty Ltd 📷 Chicago - ©Thomas Harris 📷 Hyderabad - ©Ricken Desai 📷 Dublin - ©Donal Murphy

Thanks to The Academy of Urbanism for convening us last night to explore how we can reduce carbon emissions in the built environment. Buildings and Construction account for a staggering 34% of ALL carbon emissions globally. The embodied carbon in construction materials accounts for 9% of ALL carbon emissions globally (it's part of that 34%). (IEA 2023). But the sector is also way ahead of a lot of other industries in our understanding of what we can do and need to do. So let's get on with it, PDQ!
An informative and thought-provoking Academy of Urbanism event last night on what built environment professionals can do to meet the carbon challenge. With an excellent panel of Sue Riddlestone OBE Chris Brown Syreeta Bayne MSc, FICRS Kyle Gray Mandy Franz kevin logan we all left with valuable insights and practical ways of making a difference. Heartening chat over post-presentation drinks from motivated attendees. Enormous thanks to the panellists and to @Arup who hosted in their Charlotte Street office which was appropriately designed to a high environmental design spec, is operationally zero carbon and is London’s largest all-electric building.

🌱 Unlocking Potential - Rethinking Brownfield Sites 🏗️ Land is a limited resource essential for a wide range of economic activities such as manufacturing, logistics, agriculture and housing. Brownfield sites are spaces with a history of industrial use or contamination and therefore often overlooked. Redevelopment is the transformative process that breathes new life into these areas. 💪 Need an example? The Ankerbrotfabrik in Vienna, once a historic bread factory, has been transformed into a vibrant space hosting art studios, workshops, offices, and cultural events while still preserving its industrial heritage. Today, it stands as a testament to innovative brownfield development. #Freshfields #RealEstate #BrownfieldRedevelopment #SustainableTransformation #Ankerbrotfabrik #InnovationInUrbanDevelopment

So excited about this one! It's Biohabitats 10th certified LBC project... and one of my favorites. Among many firsts... it's the first building in the world to create retail grade fossil fuel free fertilizer from recovery nutrients, rain, and solar energy (operated and sold by Nutrient Recovery Services). #climatesolutions #resilientinfrastructure #sustainabledevelopment #energywaternutreintecologynexus #netzero
It’s official! 🙌 The PAE Living Building has achieved full Living Building Challenge certification, the most rigorous sustainability standard in the world, from the International Living Future Institute. 🌿 GreenTwins is developing a green model for the digital twin cities (HEL-TAL), analysing physical space models and digitising #geoinformatics data and movement. What makes this #project unique is the digital modelling of the green #environment, which allows landscape changes to be analysed and tested in completely new ways. The aim of the project is to deal with digital solutions for modelling blue and green networks in the urban environment and to develop software and models that provide information on the effects of urban planning to various stakeholders. 🌆 The City of Tallinn will open a #participationhub which will be an exhibition and co-creation space equipped with state-of-the-art visualisation #technology, with the aim of facilitating citizens' participation in the urban design processes and thus fostering meaningful discussion between the city, developers, professionals and citizens. 🤲 The GreenTwins project contributes to the development of participatory #urbanplanning linked to one of the UN's global sustainable development goals (#sdg11). The continued development of the digital twin cities creates new opportunities for better citizen involvement and the improvement of democratic processes in civil society. The City of Tallinn, TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology, Aalto University and the Helsingin kaupunki – Helsingfors stad – City of Helsinki are participating in the GreenTwins project. https://lnkd.in/drA6ZhBK
