Sexual violence is a global issue that affects millions of people, regardless of age, gender, nationality, or socioeconomic status. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that about 1 in 3 women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime. Let's start the conversation.

A report released this year by UNICEF, World Health Organization, Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) highlights the intersections between violence against children and violence against women. It echoes what we have heard from our partners based on their experiences on the ground. We believe that by addressing violence at an early age, the cycle of intergenerational violence can be broken. The World Health Organization estimates that nearly 1 in 3 women/girls have been subjected to at least once in their lifetime to gender based violence (GBV) including physical or sexual violence from a current or former intimate partner, a non-partner, or both. However, access to services and supports for survivors of GBV is becoming more constrained in a growing number of situations across the world.
