Skills-based hiring is something we are going to be seeing more of this year and it requires a mindset and cultural shift of defining and assessing applicant qualifications. We also need to consider skills-first when looking at our internal talent pool. In Colorado, for example, 90% of state positions now have a defined equivalency for educational attainment, making it easier for applicants and hiring managers to navigate the process. This type of practice further provides states the flexibility to adapt to changes in technology and the future of work, and allows them to more easily adopt work-based learning models like apprenticeships. #futureofwork #frontlineworkers #equity #skillsbasedhiring #deib #hr #publicsector
