Here is another highlight from our time at the Singapore Airshow - the concluding panel of the Sustainable Aviation Forum! Robin Riedel of McKinsey & Company led an engaging discussion with Diana Siegel of Electra.aero, Haldane Dodd of Air Transport Action Group (ATAG), Robert Boyd of Boeing, Sami Jauhiainen of Neste, and Simon Newitt of Heart Aerospace, exploring strategies for decarbonizing aviation. Key insights include: 1. Global alignment on sustainability standards will be key to ensuring that SAF delivers anticipated benefits, with emphasis on a science-based approach. 2. Long-term policy support will play a crucial role in scaling investments in SAF and achieving overall efficiency gains. 3. A mindset of technological neutrality should be adopted by public and private players alike, to boost collaboration over competition 4. New energy players must be welcomed to the playing field, to complement mature players and drive a more diverse and innovative ecosystem. What a pleasure it was to witness industry leaders come together to outline a net-zero airline roadmap with realistic yet ambitious sustainability targets.

Progress requires stakeholders to come together and catalyze change, and action is needed more than words. Our industry cannot afford to delay action to meet our goals. Artificial Intelligence, digitalisation and automation are significant advancements in smart aerospace that will continue to help the sector become more efficient and innovative. 2.
