From Asia to Europe, our designs are a mosaic of the cultures we serve. Each structure tells a story, woven with the threads of local heritage and visionary design. At LWK + PARTNERS, diversity is not just celebrated; it's an essential component of our creative process. Much like a "Kit of Parts" in architecture, each cultural element our team members bring contributes to a richer, more diverse design outcome. Today, we spotlight the cultural variety that shapes our designs and our collective identity. From the innovative facades in Middle East to the vibrant landscapes in Asia, every LWK + PARTNERS project is a testament to the synergistic power of diverse perspectives coming together. Each cultural input, a part of a greater whole, helps us construct not just buildings, but legacies. Let’s continue to celebrate and embrace the diversity that enriches our creativity and our lives. Here’s to more collaborative successes in our wonderfully diverse world! #WorldDayforCulturalDiversity #LWKandPARTNERS #GlobalTeam #CulturalRichness #InnovativeDesign #KitofParts #LWKimpact

By tackling regional challenges and focusing on community well-being, architects can create spaces that reflect local culture and identity. It starts with engaging the community, ensuring that designs not only address current needs but also inspire future growth. This approach shows how thoughtful design can transform lives and foster a brighter future for the region. Gensler’s Tim Martin shares more on the exciting role of design in driving social impact in the Middle East. https://ow.ly/Enk050TGOhJ #DesignForImpact #MiddleEast #GenslerInsights

The accessible tourism market is worth $13.5 billion in Australia and represents upto 24% of the population. With figures like that, tourism operators can’t afford not to be catering for accessible visitors. But more importantly there are other benefits. Accessibile visitors who have great experiences are much more likely to repeat visit, they travel in groups with carers and family members and they also tend to travel more in off peak or shoulder seasons. Accessibile visitors also contribute to positive outcomes in staff morale, job satisfaction and of course the visitor benefits from incredible visitor experiences which can lead to word of mouth promotion. Im proud to have been part of an organisation that has won a Tourism Hall of Fame award for our accesible visitor experiences. Catering for accessible visitors doesnt have to be hard or expensive. It all starts with a decision to do something. Getaboutable run great information sessions and this webinar is a great - and free - opportunity to learn more about an essential part of strengthening your organisation and your visitor experience.

How do we achieve culturally dense cities where diversity triumphs over monotony? Places can be creative, and cities can carry their own cultural identity. Jacob Sahlqvist, head of office at White Arkitekter in Gothenburg, draws attention to the many benefits of making space for culture in cities. Here are six steps to a more culturally dense city: 1. Introduce a culture factor 2. Give away the keys 3. Try prototyping 4. Embrace diversity 5. Let art live 6. Inject the city with culture Read more in the carousel below! #whitearkitekter #architecture #culture #diversity

What a fantastic step towards inclusion for designers to understand, conceptualise and implement.
Join the BAA for an evening which promises to be an enlightening and crucial event for the industry, focusing on the theme of Neurodiversity in Design and Architecture. This event is set to feature prominent figures in the field, including the Focus Group Lead, Kavita Dhande, and the Panel Chair, Kudzai Matsvai alongside Stephanie Kyle, Mark Ellerby and Helen Castle. Tickets are limited, sign up at: https://lnkd.in/erR3K97w The discussions will revolve around the evolution of industry guidance on neurodiversity and its impact on the built environment. Traditional concepts of inclusive design are being challenged, with a growing emphasis on addressing sensory design considerations. The need for spaces that not only accommodate diversity in a physical sense but spaces that also mitigate the design of environments that cause triggers and stress caused by neurological differences is now more apparent than ever. The event aims to shed light on the challenges faced by individuals who may experience difficulties due to vulnerability to sensory overload. The discussions will delve into innovative ways to create supportive environments for neurodivergent colleagues and, importantly, design spaces that are welcoming and safe for the end users of the buildings. The BAA expresses excitement about continuing their commitment to exploring, discussing, and promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) across the Built Environment. This event continues the BAA's dedications to foster a more inclusive and understanding industry that caters to the diverse needs of both its professionals and the community at large. Participants can expect a thought-provoking evening that encourages dialogue, learning, and the development of practical solutions to promote neurodiversity in the built environment. The Birmingham Architectural Association is sponsored by Allgood, CUPA PIZARRAS, Rockpanel, Solus, Taylor Maxwell, Altro Limited, dlinexsign ltd Please note that the venue is fully accessible, however we do need to let the venue know if there are any specialist requirements. Please email ahead of the event the BAA on baa@brumarchitecture.com. #birminghamarchitecture #design #edi #neurodiversity
