Jessica Silvaggi this could be amazing, but the devil is in the details. I looked over Startup World Cup's terms and conditions. If I were considering taking part in their conference here are some of the questions I'd ask: -- The $1M prize is in exchange for equity or a convertible note. What are the specific terms? -- As part of the registration process, startups need to share their status on X. Why? -- Am I prepared to cover the cost of the flight to the grand finale in Silicon Valley? And do I need to pay hotel costs too? And do I need to pay a registration fee to get into the conference? -- Finalists are chosen for the competition partially based on their number of tweets. What does that mean? Here are the terms and conditions if anyone else wants to look them over and weigh in: https://lnkd.in/gSb6NWs8

Such a move also boosts their probability of getting venture financing by around 218%, and receiving a patent by 60%, according to Jorge Guzman, an associate professor at Columbia Business School and the paper’s author. Other hubs While moving to other tech hubs, such as Denver, Los Angeles, Boston and New York, also benefits startups to varying degrees, the benefits in most cases aren’t as big as those conveyed by moving to Silicon Valley, the paper found. “Silicon Valley simply has the highest level ecosystem under any measure—venture capital, patenting and startup formation,” says Guzman. Guzman analyzed 405,536 …
