“If you have a dog with brown staining on its nail beds, feet that smell like corn chips, or recurrent musty ear infections, they are most likely battling an overgrowth of yeast. This herbal blend helps to cleanse and detoxify gently. And if you are dealing with a chronic or more severe situation, consider their yeast guard plus that helps support the microbiome and targets the yeast biofilm.” Says Integrative Veterinarian Dr. Lindsey Wendt in her recent article. @thewildest thank you so much for the shout-out!

The Surprising Reason Why Flea Bites Turn Pale or White When fleas bite, they inject saliva into the skin, which can cause an allergic reaction. This reaction leads to the release of histamine, a chemical that causes blood vessels to dilate and leads to increased blood flow to the affected area. The area around the flea bite may become white or pale due to: 1. Vasodilation: The increased blood flow causes the blood vessels to dilate, leading to a decrease in oxygenated blood in the affected area, making it appear pale or white. 2. Histamine release: Histamine causes the blood vessels to leak fluid, leading to swelling and inflammation. This can cause the skin to become pale or white due to the increased fluid and reduced blood flow. 3. Allergic response: The allergic reaction to the flea saliva can cause the skin to become inflamed, leading to a decrease in melanin production, making the area appear lighter or white. It's important to note that the white coloration is usually temporary and may resolve once the allergic reaction subsides. If you're concerned about flea bites or your pet's health, consult a veterinarian for advice! #FleaBites #AllergicReactions #SkinHealth #PetHealth #FleaPrevention #HealthAndWellness #ScienceBehindTheScene

🐐 Ensuring Healthy Weight Gain in Goats: The Risks of Too Much Grain and How to Address Them 💡 🐐 If a goat consumes too much grain food at once, it can develop acidosis. An adult goat weighing 20 kg can safely digest up to 250-300 grams of grain feed per day. Exceeding this amount raises the acid level in the stomach, which can kill digestive enzymes. Consequently, the goat's food may not be properly digested, leading to symptoms of acidosis. 👉 Symptoms of acidosis in goats: 1. Diarrhea with visible grain in the stool. 2. Dehydration, resulting in dry eyes and mouth. 3. Blood clots and shortness of breath. 4. Stomach pain, causing the goat to squirm. 5. Weight loss. 6. Decreased body temperature. 👉 Steps to Take for Goat Acidosis: 1. For an adult goat, dissolve 20-30 grams of soda in water and administer it slowly. 2. Provide anti-allergy medication and pain relief for stomach discomfort. 3. If the stomach is swollen, release the gas from the goat’s rumen. 4. Administer antibiotics to the goat. 5. Provide saline to address dehydration. 6. Offer digestive aids and palatable medications to support recovery. Note: Acidosis in goats can lead to death if not treated in time. Therefore, as soon as the symptoms of acidosis are seen in the goat's body, the goat should be treated. #GoatHealth #AnimalWelfare #LivestockManagement #VeterinaryCare #GoatCare #AnimalNutrition #FarmManagement #AcidosisPrevention #LivestockHealth #AnimalHusbandry

Do you know about Canine Chronic Enteropathy? 🔎 It’s all the gastrointestinal signs that pets show when they are not digesting food as they should, and there are ways to understand and regulate this phenomenon. These signs can include diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, flatulence, regurgitation and borborygmi. It’s not easy for our pets to communicate to us that their diet does not suit them, so we have to be aware of their reactions. There are 4 types of diets that can meet their specific needs: · A highly digestible diet, which works for most pets suffering from mild absorptive issues; · A low-fat diet, recommended when a pet’s GI state is related to a condition requiring lowered dietary fat (e.g. hyperlipidemia or pancreatitis); · A dietary elimination, which consists in reducing exposure to antigenicity in the intestinal tract and will help identify the nutritive cause; · A fibre-inclusive diet, which helps to absorb gastrointestinal liquid and amongst other benefits, can serve as a prebiotic . Sharing this kind of information is always useful for pet parents, especially when they have trouble sometimes managing their pets’ regularity. A huge thank you Lori Prantil, MPS, DVM, DACVIM (Nutrition), Pet and Product science specialist at Royal Canin, for this very helpful article published on Veterinary Practice: https://lnkd.in/eNzUFa4f #ProudlyRoyalCanin #RoyalCanin #PetsNutrition #HealthThroughNutrition #VetFocus
