FRIDAY FEEDBACK Big thanks to Michael Mignano and Lightspeed ventures team for hosting their Generative NYC Meetup this past Wednesday in the Hamptons. Had the chance to learn from Mati Staniszewski of ElevenLabs and Demi G. From Pika about some of the latest developments in the space as well as hang out with some awesome folks in a relaxed summery setting while listening to demos from founders in various AI niches. Some observations: 1/ The tech is still mind blowing and it’s unclear to any given startup if they’ll be leapfrogged by another model. Pika is focused on efficient models and research as a way to compute with bigger organizations that have access to more resources. Competing with the large companies requires specialization and also smart decisions around whether the cloud is the right choice or building your own cluster. 2/ Multimodal models are still early in terms of their ability to get to final product faster an in a more efficient way. 3/ Generative AI is not just text, audio [voice and music], images and videos. There are opportunities in many other media including Genetics 🧬 (DNA), Physical Engines 🔨 , and Material Science 🧫. I’m super excited to see the use cases that impact our in person interactions and empower stronger real life communities and relationships. Looking forward to more out of the box meetup opportunities like this one and the chance to learn from all the smart creative people who are embracing this technology. Thoughts from the Airport This week has been a wild ride (again): - Catching up after a week at amazing Latitude59 - Driving to Prague to pitch in front of a jury for Vodafone Nápad roku (seems successful as we moved from the top 30 to the top 11) - Two insightful and well-prepared days at SLSP Seedstarter (true highlight of the week, still processing all the notes) - Receiving great news that we were selected to pitch at @TOA24 in Berlin - Immediately changing our stage pitch after feedback from Vít Šubert at Seedstarter to better suit Berlin - Learning that TrollWall AI received a Special Prize at the Trustworthy AI Awards by Hopero Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies - Thanks to all of this, getting to know new and interesting people, not just from the startup community So now I’m sitting at the airport on my way to Berlin and remembered this old saying: “Everything bad is good for something.” If people hadn’t gotten crazy toxic and hateful, TrollWall wouldn’t exist, and so on. So maybe everything bad is good for something, or maybe it’s just me trying to find something positive after seeing how many toxic comments our app had to remove just today. 🤷

Less than a tenth of UK deep tech companies are founded solely by women 👩💻 We recently partnered the Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Hub to bring you the first ever report on the UK’s deep tech ecosystem. It shows that UK deep tech is dominated by men, with just 7.5% of UK deep tech companies founded by all-female teams—and that funding issues persit for active scaleups. This was our reality when we embarked on building our own AI Agents, before a lot of the world had caught up. We've certainly taken the scenic route! 🏞 However, the landscape is evolving. With major players like Google (Project Oscar) and Amazon (Metis) recently launching their own AI Agent variations, we anticipated this shift. Such is the reality of being a startup in the tech industry. 👩💻 Despite the challenges, building something ahead of its widespread adoption has been immensely rewarding. We've gained invaluable insights throughout this journey, and we continue to learn as we bring this project to completion. The best part? We're now better equipped and more knowledgeable for our future AI endeavors!
