RUOK Day: Let’s Talk About Mental Health in Construction 💬 Today is RUOK Day, a powerful reminder to check in with our mates and colleagues. In the construction industry, mental health is a critical issue that we can’t afford to ignore. Did you know that Australian construction workers are six times more likely to die from suicide than from a workplace accident? And young construction workers are more than twice as likely to take their own lives compared to other young Australians. At Wolf Group, we believe that every conversation counts. Here’s how we can all make a difference: 1: Start the Conversation: A simple “Are you okay?” can open the door to meaningful discussions. 2: Educate and Support: Participate in mental health training programs like the General Awareness Training (GAT) to better understand and support your colleagues. 3: Create a Supportive Environment: Encourage a workplace culture where mental health is openly discussed and supported. Together, we can make our workplaces safer and more supportive for everyone. Let’s ensure that RUOK Day is not just a one-day event but a catalyst for ongoing conversations and actions. Remember, asking the question can make all the difference. 💬💛 #RUOKDay #mentalhealth #buildingpeople #wolfgroup Source: RQC Group Insights, Safework NSW Report 2023

As Mental Health Awareness Week approaches, Civils & Lintels are proud to continue raising awareness of mental health in the construction sector. Since the start of 2022, we've embarked on a partnership with Mates in Mind, and have so far raised almost £45,000 to aid in their vital work. Why Mates in Mind? Because we believe in fostering a culture where mental health is valued, supported, and understood without judgment or stigma. The construction industry, like many others, faces its unique challenges, and addressing mental health is paramount especially as suicide rates amongst construction workers are 3.7 times higher than the national average. If you, or anyone you know is struggling and need some support, please use their free “Be a Mate” text service; totally confidential and open 24/7, simply text “Beamate” to 85258. #MentalHealthAwareness #MatesinMind #BeTheChange #ConstructionCares #EndTheStigma

During the Mental Health Foundation's Mental Health Awareness Week, Arrowdale stands in solidarity with the construction industry in raising awareness about mental health challenges. Did you know that suicide rates among construction workers are significantly higher than the national average? According to recent studies, construction workers are at a greater risk of experiencing poor mental health due to high-pressure environments, long hours, and job insecurity. As a company, we've sadly witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of mental health struggles. It's time to break the stigma and prioritise mental well-being in our industry. The Mental Health Foundation works tirelessly to raise awareness and provide support, advocating for policy changes to improve mental health outcomes for all. By fostering a supportive work culture, providing access to resources, and promoting open conversations about mental health, we can create safer and healthier workplaces for everyone. Let's come together to support one another and make mental health a top priority in the construction industry. Remember, it's okay not to be okay, and seeking help is a sign of strength. Together, we can build a healthier and happier construction industry. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #BreakTheStigma #ConstructionIndustry #Arrowdale #CareConstruction #MechanicalContractors
